Australia's best bakery of 2026 has been crowned
Banana Boogie Bakery in South Australia has just been crowned the Best Bakery at the 2026 Australian Small Business Champion Awards.
Owners Jason and Kelly Spencer were at the Star Sydney on Saturday to accept the honour, one of many accolades they have received since launching their popular bakery, but certainly the most prestigious so far.
Jason told Today his nerves took over while they waited for the results, so he asked ChatGPT what their chances of winning were.

"After taking out the state title late last year, we thought we'd throw our hat in the ring at a national level… and what do you know.
"This one means a lot. To our team – the early mornings, the pressure, the consistency you bring every day… this is yours.
"To everyone who supports us across both stores – thank you. You back us hard and push us to keep raising the bar.
"We're proud of what we've built… and we're not slowing down anytime soon."
They ended their post by saying: "See you in the shop."
