Shoppers are being urged to check their freezers immediately after four varieties of the viral snack sensation Bomberry – a Australian-made frozen chocolate-coated fruit treat – were pulled from supermarket shelves nationwide due to fears of metal contamination.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) and state food safety authorities issued the urgent recall on October 28.

The product has been removed from sale at Woolworths and other retailers. Jo Abi
