Aldi shelves stripped bare of popular condiment: 'I couldn't buy just one'
A popular condiment is flying off supermarket shelves after it was temporarily discontinued.
Aldi's Colway Spicy Barbeque Sauce is selling out at multiple locations across the country, following a five-month absence.
"It's back (I hope)," one fan posted on the 'Aldi Australia' Reddit thread.

"Found these at Aldi the other day, sorry but I couldn't buy just one," the Aldi shopper explained.
In the photo were four bottles of Colway Spicy Barbeque Sauce. At $1.85 for a 500ml bottle they are also an incredible bargain buy.
"I initially grabbed one and my wife was, 'Really? It's not been available for ages.' My voice of reason," they added.
One Redditor pointed out: "Bro bought 2 litres of bbq sauce."

"Fairly certain this is just a special buy," another Redditor explained. "Once it's sold out that's it until they MAYBE bring it back in a few months."
And that Redditor is correct. Colway Spicy Barbeque Sauce has returned as a Special Buy and is only available for a limited time only.
But this wasn't always the case.
In 2025 this popular condiment was part of Aldi's core range before being deleted in August of 2025, much to the dismay of fans.
Fans took to the Aldi Australia Reddit thread lamenting the sudden disappearance from shelves.
"Does anyone know what happened to the spicy bbq sauce they had in Aldi?" one Aussie shopper asked.
"It looks like they don't sell it anyone or something as I been looking for a while and it is sooo good!"
"I have also looked everywhere!!! Aldi please bring it back!!!!" another replied.

Now that is has made a temporary comeback Aldi shoppers aren't taking any risks and are stocking up.
"It's been about a year since it was last in store. Must get a year's worth in one go," one Redditor said.
"Hahaha I just bought six bottles (sorry everyone else) because my last bottle ran out last September and I hadn't seen it since. It is my favourite low cal sauce," another said.
"Great stuff, I use it when I make egg n bacon rolls," added another.
Sadly, as Colway Spicy Barbeque Sauce is no longer part of Aldi's core range, once its gone, its gone, and customers will be left to hope and pray for its return.
This isn't the first time in 2026 that a beloved grocery item has made an exciting comeback after fans made their feelings known.

So, it's a pretty good start to 2026 for Aussie shoppers. Let's hope that all of our other grocery favourites stay put, for now.
One can only hope other items make similar exciting returns to supermarket shelves.
