Gone but not forgotten: Eight grocery items we said goodbye to in 2025

There are eight grocery items we said goodbye to in 2025 – sweet and savoury snacks we'd to grown love and have had to learn to live without.

The reasons these delicious treats were discontinued were as complicated as they were painful.

Sometimes we forget they are gone, and still look for them on supermarket shelves. Alas, they are no longer there.

Let's take a look back at each of these incredible products.

1. Oreo Berry Choc Top and Oreo Cinnamon Bun

Mondelez International, the makers of the beloved Oreo range, confirmed Oreo Berry Choc Top and Oreo Cinnamon Bun were discontinued in 2025.

Both flavours disappeared from supermarket shelves, with fans of the tasty treats left wondering if they had been discontinued permanently, or were just experiencing a temporary supply issue.

Oreo Cinnamon Bun was first released in Australia in 2022 while Oreo Berry Choc Top was a more recent addition to the range, landing on supermarket shelves in 2024.

Thankfully there are multiple new Oreo flavours taking their place, with plans for more fun flavour collaborations in 2026.

2. Tyrrell's Hand-Cooked Potato Chips

Tyrrell's Hand-Cooked Potato Chips had a crunch like no other, with a perfect balance of saltiness.

Sadly they disappeared from supermarket shelves at Coles and Woolies in 2025, as well as specialty stores.

Tyrrell's confirmed they would no longer be sold in Australia, much to the distress of Aussie fans who tried to stock up on them before the sold out completely.

Sadly, it was due to "inefficient customer demand" in what became a crowded specialty potato chip market dominated by Kettle and Red Rock Deli as well as supermarket home brands.

3. Darrell Lea Bullets Raspberry Milk Chocolate

A delicious Darrell Lea chocolate block was discontinued in 2025 – the Bullets Raspberry Milk Chocolate.

This was a special product, with a lovely blend of creamy milk chocolate and that unique chewiness that comes with raspberry bullets.

Darrell Lea told nine.com.au it was a "business decision" but did hint another discontinued chocolate block would be making a triumphant return in 2026.

We'll have to wait and see which one it is, and hope this block follows in its footsteps.

4. Aldi Food Envy Vanilla Protein Custard Pouches

Aldi products are often only released for a limited time only, which some feel is a clever way to keep customers on their toes.

One victim of this suspected strategy was Aldi's Food Envy Vanilla Protein Custard Pouches, which disappeared from Aldi stores in September.

Aldi confirmed these were part of the Limited Time Only range that were "here for a good time, not a long time", a phrase we heard multiple times from Aldi as shoppers hunted around for other missing products.

Which is fine, because we love Aldi, and while these are no longer in stock, we remain hopeful they will be back.

5. Aldi Colway Spicy Barbeque Sauce

Another Aldi product that did a runner this year is Aldi Colway Spicy Barbeque Sauce, a condiment so unique fans are having trouble finding anything that comes even close to it.

Aldi confirmed this product had been discontinued in August this year, with some fans calling for a petition to bring it back.

One parent took to Reddit to lament its demise, explaining their kids went through a bottle "every couple of weeks".

Currently Aldi is only selling tomato sauce and standard barbeque sauce, which just aren't the same.

6. Coles Ultimate 40% Chocolate Chip Cookies Chocolate Dipped

Coles' range of home brand biscuits are incredible – none more than the Ultimate 40% Choc Chip Cookies.

When they released a Chocolate Dipped version of these incredible cookies, Coles shoppers were enthralled.

There's simply no such thing as too much chocolate in one biscuit, however these definitely came close to hitting that threshold, but held back just enough for them to be utter perfection.

Coles confirmed these had been discontinued, with one Redditor commenting: "RIP To The Best Biscuits In Australia!"

7. Shapes Four n Twenty Classic Meat Pie and Shapes Fully Loaded Bueno Beef Taco

Shapes discontinued two flavours in early 2025 – Four n Twenty Classic Meat Pie and Fully Loaded Bueno Beef Taco.

Shapes Four n Twenty Classic Meat Pie returned to supermarket shelves in 2024 after being discontinued previously, so there is some hope they will be back.

Shapes Fully Loaded Bueno Beef Taco first came out in mid-2024 as part of Arnott's new Shapes flavour drop.

Sadly they were discontinued, making way for multiple new Shapes flavours, with plans for many more spicy and tasty varieties in 2026.

8. Quality Street by Nestle

Quality Street by Nestle will no longer be imported into Australia from the UK, as of November 2025.

This proved to be quite a shock for Aussie shoppers keen to purchase the iconic chocolate box for Christmas, having endured a series of changes to the product over the years – including the size shrinking and some shape and flavour changes.

"We know Quality Street are cherished favourites and will be missed by many," a spokesperson told nine.com.au.

"But we're continuing to make Christmas sweet for our chocolate lovers with our new and returning favourites like the KitKat Christmas Cabin, KitKat 12 Breaks of Christmas Advent Calendar, Allen's BonBon, Allen's Giant Freckle, and Milkybar Gingerbread Smash.
