In an exclusive interview with 9Entertainment, Meester, 38, revealed the sneaky way Brody scored a surprise role in the series and teased any future projects for the star couple.
"I got him that job," Meester laughed. "We were going to be together in Australia and I thought, 'Eight episodes? There's got to be something for him to do somewhere'."

Meester and Cook lead a stellar cast in the new crime-comedy, playing reluctant sister-brother detectives in a small town police force.

While set in the Pacific Northwest, the show was filmed in the picturesque town of Canungra, 40 minutes from the Gold Coast, Australia.
There, Meester was joined by Brody and their family for almost four months of filming. It wasn't long before special cameos began working their way into the series.

"[Adam] was like, 'Give me a little weird character I can come in and play'," said Meester.
"Throughout the series, he read a few of the scripts and practised my lines with me and was like, 'I think I could do this one'. So we made it happen and it was fun and silly," she smiled.
And while the episode isn't out yet, fans caught a glimpse of the cameo in Stan's very special sneak peek here:
"He's my best friend, my favourite actor," Meester added. "I just really love working with him on really anything, honestly."
Meester rose to fame in the 2000's thanks to her role as Blair Waldorf in long-running series Gossip Girl, while Brody won hearts as the geeky but charming Seth Cohen in The O.C.
If the two were to ever lead a rom-com, it would certainly make millennial dreams come true.
So would they?
"You know of all the things we've done together, we've never played love interests," Meester responded.

"I mean, we've worked together on six or seven projects. Never have we been love interests, it's always some weird character dynamic where we're kind of at odds.
"But it's kind of fun like that," she smiled.
The Stan Original Series Good Cop/Bad Copy premieres February 20, 2025, only on Stan.
