Ballet flats were one of last year's top trends and show no sign of slowing down – but it's hard to find an affordable pair that doesn't make your feet ache with blisters (speaking from personal experience).
On my hunt for the perfect pair of ballerinas, a few things were important: comfort, aesthetics, durability and good quality materials – namely leather over synthetics.
Enter: Camper Casi Myra flats. These flats are made of the softest, non-chafing leather with a sleek, timeless design that, in my experience, elevates any outfit. And the best part is, they won't blow the bank.
Instead of wasting time and money on a slew of ballet flats that aren't comfortable, or fall apart after a few wears, here's why these Camper flats should be your next purchase.

New wave flats
The Casi Myra boast a narrow, minimalist body, while the slightly squared toe speaks to the re-emergence of '90s styles in the current era.
This sleek style also, in my opinion, makes them look far more expensive than they really are – coming in at $245, some colourways are on sale for under $200 at the moment.
Whenever I feel my outfit for work or running errands is lacking a little something, throwing on my black Campers always instantly enhances the look. They bring a sense of effortless style to any outfit without you needing to put in much effort.
The Campers also stand out from the round-toed, bow-embellished shoes that one might typically imagine when they hear 'ballerinas'. Frankly, we've seen fashion brands both high and low duplicate these shoes to no end throughout 2024, so the Campers are a great breath of fresh air while still sticking to the trend.
With 14 colourways to choose from – from classic black to loud pink and orange – there's something to suit everyone's style, or even better, own multiple pairs!
The Casi Myra flats come in burgundy leather, among other colours. 9Product Reviews
Say goodbye to blisters and chafing
For many who wore the shoes during the early 2000s, ballet flats are synonymous with foot pain endured in the name of fashion.
However, the Campers are designed to support your feet and promote minimal chafing and blistering.
Full disclosure: During my first two or three wears I experienced some discomfort and chafing on the back of one of my heels – I have one foot slightly larger than the other, so this is a common issue for me – but since breaking them in, I've had minimal issues.
They're definitely the comfiest pair of ballet flats I've ever owned.
While travelling in Hong Kong recently, I even wore them around walking for a full day, and only experienced some discomfort in the final hour. Since these shoes are not, after all, made for walking, I'd say this is a pretty impressive outcome.
The flats pair with pretty much everything, and look great with denim jeans. 9Product Reviews / Zara Zadro
Quality, quality, quality
Camper is renowned for producing high-quality shoes at affordable price points. The Casi Myra flats feature an entirely leather upper (or body), TPU outsoles (20 per cent recycled), and OrthoLite Recycled insoles.
I've worn these shoes multiple times a week for several months – predominantly to work – and they've held up supremely well.
Like all things made of soft leather, these shoes do scratch and scuff fairly easily, but if you're careful not to knock them around they'll remain in great condition.
One plus side of buying shoes made of real leather is that you can always take them to a cobbler to get them repaired and polished up, and they'll look brand new. This is much more sustainable and affordable than buying a new pair.
On the other hand, the bodies of many cheaper ballet flats are made of synthetics, which tend to fall apart faster and can't be repaired over time – plus, when they do go into the bin, they'll be contributing to plastic landfill.

Conclusion: should you buy the Camper Casi Myra ballet flats?
The Casi Myra ballet flats are a great investment that offer similar quality and refined aesthetics to higher-end ballet shoes without having to spend a fortune.
However, if they're simply not for you, good luck on your journey to finding the perfect ballet flat.
