Bennett’s husband Kenny Wormald told the court that she had been struggling with “severe mental health issues before her death,” according to a statement read by assistant coroner Jyoti Gill, reported the BBC.
The court heard she had told her husband she was going for a walk the morning of her death while he stayed in bed.
She never returned home and was not returning calls or texts from her husband or other family members.
Wormald and her father went to look for her.
Following her location on Find My iPhone, Wormald was lead to her body in a rural area of Kent.
He told the court that the pair “talked about everything,” adding there was no sign she was going to end her life.
Farewell letters written by Bennett were later found in her home, Kent and Medway Coroners’ Court heard.
The court heard that the singer was previously diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome. The genetic disorder can cause anxiety, mood instability and depression, it was told.
In January, months before her death, the singer did not sleep for days and was admitted to hospital under a mental health order.
Gill added Bennett suffered “substantial psychological suffering” ever since.
The court was also told that despite being under the care of “special mental health services” at the time, she did not believe she would get better.
No alcohol or illicit drugs were found in her system when she died.

Her father Richard Bennett announced his daughter’s death in July.
“It is with a broken heart that I share the loss of my beautiful and talented daughter, @laurenbennett, the love of my life and my pride and joy,” he said.
“Lauren was an incredible person and artist: creative, talented, funny, and as humble as she was beautiful. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and made a lasting impact on countless lives through her music, her kindness, and the way she made people feel.”
Richard noted from a young age, it was clear she had a “very special gift” and started performing professionally at 12.
He added that her achievements within the music industry are beyond anything they imagined and still “make me so proud”.
He said she had previously had a reaction to a medicine, and criticised health services.

“Months before her death, Lauren experienced a severe reaction to a prescribed medication. As a family, we all rallied around her and did everything we could to support her,” the post continued.
“We have no suspicions regarding the circumstances of her death, only deep disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services failed to treat her appropriately during her time of greatest need.
“Lauren was deeply loved and will be missed every day for the rest of our lives. I hope she will be remembered for her remarkable achievements, her beautiful music, and the incredible person she was.
“Her legacy lives on through her daughter, her family, and through the music she leaves behind.”
