Russell Crowe, Luke Hemsworth and Daniel MacPherson to star in Stan Original Film Beast In Me - as Amy Shark makes her movie debut

Amy Shark is set to make her feature film debut alongside some Hollywood juggernauts.

Today it was announce the musician, 38, will star alongside Russell Crowe, Luke Hemsworth, Daniel MacPherson the Stan Original Film Beast In Me. .

Also starring in the movie will be nine-time world champion martial artist Bren Foster.

The film follows Patton James (MacPherson), a devoted family man and former mixed martial artist, who had vowed to leave his fighting career behind.

When his brother is severely injured and financial pressures loom, Patton is thrust back into the ring to train.

Shark is best known for captivating audiences with her soulful blend of indie pop and heartfelt lyrics.

In July last year, she spoke about dabbling in acting during an interview on the Smallzy's Surgery podcast.

"I like pushing myself and scaring myself," she said.

"I like the whole idea of scaring yourself and just saying yes and being like… when I said yes to [Australian] Idol, I was like, 'Well, holy s--t. I don't know how I'm gonna do live TV. I've never been a judge.'

"I kind of get off on the rush of figuring it out and, like, why not?"

Stan unveiled a whole host of new shows and movies on Tuesday, including another movie with two well-known Hollywood greats.

​Oscar-nominated and two-time Palme d'Or winner Ruben Östlund directs a Sharmill and Stan Original film The Entertainment System is Down starring Kirsten Dunst, Daniel Brühl, and Keanu Reeves.

The darkly satirical project is set on a long-haul flight between England and Australia where the entertainment system fails and passengers are forced to face the horror of being bored. Also starring Australian actors Daniel Webber, Wayne Blair, and Dan Wyllie.
