WWE stars and legends: Then and Now
Wrestling is, undeniably, one of the biggest sports around.
The WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) has helped champion the sport and help produce a number of star wrestlers.
Some of the stars, including The Rock, John Cena and Dave Bautista, have managed to forge successful Hollywood careers for themselves and capitalise on their WWE fame.
Others, like Triple H, have stayed with the WWE for years.

The Rock: Then
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the biggest names in WWE.
He is a legend of WWE, a Triple Crown champion and a third-generation "Superstar".
Johnson, born Dwayne Douglas Johnson, now 52, started his professional wrestling career in 1996.
Wrestling is in his blood, with his dad being late Canadian professional wrestler Rocky Johnson. His uncle was also a wrestler.
The Rock: Now
The rock is said to be worth a whopping $US800million ($AU1.2billion)
This fortune comes from his wrestling career, his venture into acting and Hollywood, an Under Armour line and his Teremana Tequila alcohol brand.
He is known for films including Fast and Furious, Black Adam, Moana and Hercules.
He is a father of three.
The Rock: Now
The Rock officially retired from wresting in 2019, but recently made a triumphant return to the ring.
"The GOAT is back," one fan commented on X under a WWE clip.
When he made his return, he delivered a powerful speech that seemingly challenged fellow WWE champion Roman Reigns, billed as his ''cousin" in the sport.
The pair are seen celebrating their tag team victory at WrestleMania 40.
Roman Reigns: Then
Roman Reigns is a Superstar of WWE.
Born Leati Joseph "Joe" Anoaʻi and standing at 6ft 3in, he signed contract with WWE in 2010.
Roman Reigns: Now
He is reportedly worth a cool $US14 million ($AU21million) and comes from a family of wrestlers.
His brother is late wrestler Rosey, born Matthew Tapunu'u Anoaʻi, who died back in 2017 at the age of 47.
At the time, Reigns shared a statement which read in part: "This is a tough time but like everything in life we can learn from it and get better from it. My only hope now is that I can continue to represent my family and represent my brother and continue to push our legacy. He was my number one fan."
Calling himself the "tribal chief," he is married to wife Galina Becker and the pair are proud parents to five.
John Cena: Then
John Cena, 47, joined the WWE in 2001 and is a 16-time World Champion.
Known as The Prototype, he hails from Massachusetts and is one of the most well-known and recognisable faces of WWE, said to be worth a cool $US80million ($AU124million).
John Cena: Then
Cena previously had a high-publicised relationship with retired professional wrestler Nikki Bella. The pair dated from 2012 to 2018.
John Cena: Now
He's seen in the ring at WrestleMania 40 with The Rock in April.
Cena recently said he regrets his feud with The Rock around 2012 and 2013.
It began when The Rock first moved to acting and Hollywood.
"I got selfish and me – living WWE at the point and not having any concept of growth or someone else's perspective – I took Dwayne's comments [about the business] as not genuine," Cena said on Happy Sad Confused.
"My view was if you love something, be there everyday. Like, what a hypocrite I am, because I still love WWE and I can't go all the time. And I just didn't see that. I was so selfish."
But they're still friends to this day.
Dave Bautista: Then
Dave Bautista, 55, pictured here in the ring with John Cena, is retired from the ring but still one of the greats.
Known as "The Animal," he reportedly signed with the WWE in 2000. He became known for moves including the Batista Bomb.
He soon became a six-time World Heavyweight Champion. He left in 2010 but has made a return to the ring since.
