Natalie Portman makes rare comment about becoming new mum at 45
Natalie Portman has spoken about becoming a new mum again after welcoming her third baby at 45 years old.
The Star Wars actress already has two children, Aleph, 15, and Amalia, 9, with ex-husband Benjamin Milleped. In September, she welcomed her third child, with her new partner of 19 months, French music producer Tanguy Destable.

Portman shared how welcoming a child in her 40s has changed her life, adding she is “full of wonder and joy at this magical little human.”
“It gives me a whole new attention to my big kids too,” she told Harper’s Bazaar.
“I am reminded of how recently they were these little fresh creations and how quickly they’ve blossomed into incredible humans with their own amazing personalities and senses of humour and ideas.”
She added that being pregnant and living in Paris, where she currently resides, is an entirely different experience to when she was living in the US.
“When I was pregnant in New York and LA, I was followed by 20 men every day,” she said referring to paparazzi.
“There’s so much interest in pregnant women in particular. I’d never been bothered more. And here, they know, and I’ve been almost completely left alone.”
Portman and Destable shared their pregnancy news in Harper’s Bazaar in April.
“Tanguy and I are very excited,” she told the outlet. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”
The actress added that she “knows how hard it is to get pregnant,” as her father is a fertility doctor.
"I have so many people I love who've had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well," Portman added.

"It's such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it's also not an easy thing." She said
"And so I know how lucky it is. I'm very aware, and I'm very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude."
Portman and Destable have been linked since March 2025, one year after she finalised her divorce from her ex-husband.
