Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding day is fast approaching, with all signs pointing to a huge Madison Square Garden party on July 3.

While some believed the big day would take place on June 13, true Swifties knew they would be tying the knot in July – and now we have proof! Here’s a breakdown of the evidence ahead of this weekend.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are seen out in Brooklyn on May 16, 2026 in New York City.

Everything pointing to July 3 at MSG

When a July 3 date at Madison Square Garden was first reported a few weeks ago, many fans remained sceptical.

Since then, however, a steady stream of leaked information has sent rumours into overdrive, practically confirming the iconic arena as the host.

We already knew that the arena’s concert schedule was cleared for the whole first week of July.

We now know that event planning company Winick Productions filed a permit with the New York City Council to close streets surrounding the venue between July 2 and July 4; the same weekend as their rumoured ceremony.

This week, multiple US outlets have captured production trucks unloading huge props into the arena.

Labels have been spotted inside the rucks and on boxes, with one reading “garden Party,” and another reading “40-inch mirror ball.”

On Tuesday morning, photographers (who have been perched outside the arena for days) also captured a large white banister being unloaded from the truck, which is believed to be part of a large castle installation being built inside the arena.

The mystery event is set to take place on Friday (Saturday AEST),with a rehearsal dinner planned for Thursday inside the arena, according to CNN.

It’s also reported the event will include 1000 guests, which aligns with the permit filed by Winick Productions.

Winick Productions is an event production company that specialises in large-scale special events in New York, according to its LinkedIn page.

Kansas City Chiefs players have also reportedly booked hotels in Midtown, close to the arena, around the date of the wedding, according to Page Six.

Travis Kelce himself was photographed enjoying a solo run through Tribeca on Tuesday, only fuelling speculation.

With that being said, no one from the couple’s camps have confirmed the date; but that is to be expected.

Why Madison Square Garden?

The decision seems pretty wild, but it makes sense if you think about it.

The arena has no external windows, underground parking, and entryways for guests and the bride to get in and out without being snapped by paparazzi.

It can also fit a huge number of people. Of course, July 3 falls on the Independence Day long weekend, which is famously Swift’s favourite holiday.

Plus, having your wedding the night before a public holiday ensures everyone can recover from what’s sure to be the wedding – and hangover – of the decade.

Travis’ suit timeline

Another clue that points towards a July 3 wedding date came from a custom menswear designer, Tom Marchitelli, who specialises in making suits for professional athletes.

In mid June, he revealed on his X account (formerly Twitter) that he had received his first tuxedo order for Taylor and Travis’ wedding.

“Just got my first tux order for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s black-tie wedding,” he wrote on June 9.

A curious fan followed up by asking, “What is the turnaround time for a custom tux order?”

The tailor replied: “Anywhere from three weeks to 24 hours.”

Given the fact that June 13 is this week, it’s hard to believe his first order would come in so late – again, pointing to the July 3 date.

He followed up with another post one day later, claiming he had received a second order for the wedding.

A fan replied saying the order seemed “last minute,” with the tailor replying that an order is only considered last minute if the suit “is needed tomorrow.”

According to the tailor’s own timeline, his custom tuxedos take a maximum of three weeks to create – a window that would see the groom’s suit finalised the exact same week as July 3.

A July 3 wedding date would also give the couple enough time to honeymoon before Kelce returns to training at the end of July.

Concert dates are set up to a year in advance, so it’s entirely possible the singer locked the venue down as soon she was engaged. Instagram

Whichever date it lands on, the world’s biggest fanbase will be ready to dissect every single detail.

Lucky number 13 falls short

Firstly, every Swiftie knows that 13 is Swift’s favourite number, so initial rumours said she would get married on the 13th. We now know this was not true.

Swift has used the number to hint at upcoming announcements and even includes the number across her work, including 13-second introductions in songs, and reserving track 13 on her albums for her most special songs.

However, she’s done a good job at separating her career milestones from her personal ones, so a June 13 wedding would have been too on the nose.

Some speculate the date was initially leaked deliberately to throw people off the scent of the real wedding date.

Perhaps she sent out save-the-dates with different dates and venues on them to see which would be leaked – finding the mole in her guest list before revealing the actual wedding date. But again, that’s nothing but speculation.

Other reasons fans believed the date could have been be June 13 was because the date fell on a Saturday, would be perfect for a wedding. Plus, June is the start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, meaning it’ll be warm but not unbearably hot.
