Taylor Swift now richest female musician in history as staggering net worth revealed

Taylor Swift is now the “richest female musician in history”, with her net worth surging to $US2 billion ($2.8 billion), according to Forbes.

Swift, 36, first achieved billionaire status in October 2023 thanks to her record-breaking Eras Tour and the total value of her music catalogue.

Now, the magazine estimates the singer’s net worth has surged to over US$2 billion thanks to music royalties, her $US600 million ($841 million) music catalogue, including her newest album The Life of a Showgirl, and $US110 million ($154 million) in real estate.

“One of the most commercially successful songwriters of all time, Swift changed the music industry in 2020 when she leveraged her star power to re-record most of her discography,” her blurb reads on the site.

“As a result, her royalties flowed straight into her pocket and she inspired fellow artists to take ownership of their music.

“In 2024, Swift reached billionaire status thanks to The Eras Tour, which became the highest-grossing concert tour in history with revenue of $2.2 billion.

“She used the cash to buy back her original masters for an estimated $360 million.

“By March 2026, her net worth doubled to $2 billion, making her the richest female musician in history.”

Swift is the first musician to become a billionaire strictly off earnings from her music and performances, without brand deals, partnerships or non-music-related initiatives.

Her catalogue includes 12 original studio albums, four re-recorded albums, four live albums, and a handful of “from the vault” tracks.

While Swift makes history again, she’s preparing to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York this week.

She’s also getting ready to tie the knot to fiancé Travis Kelce on July 3. The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end is worth an estimated $90 million.

With the billionaire and millionaire expected to tie the knot next month, there’s no doubt that their wedding will be extravagant.

While initial reports suggested the pair would tie the knot at Ocean House on Watch Hill, Rhode Island, recent details indicate the wedding could be held in New York.

Page Six confirmed in April that the pair were thinking of switching venues and going “all out” at a bigger venue in New York to fit more guests.

The guest list is rumoured to include Ed Sheeran, Zoe Kravitz, Selena Gomez, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Emma Stone, just to name a few.

Swift is also good friends with Beyoncé, so there’s always the possibility Queen B will also attend.

Beyonce’s husband, rapper Jay-Z, also made the Forbes rich list, with his net worth coming in at $US2.8 billion ($3.9 billion), after becoming Hip-hop’s first billionaire in 2019.

While there’s not been any official confirmation of who’s on the guest list, it would make sense if he attended with Beyoncé, who showed up to support Swift during the Premiere of her Eras Tour Concert Film in October 2023.

In terms of guests from Kelce’s side of the family, it’s safe to assume Kelce’s brother, fellow NFL star Jason Kelce, will be a groomsman or even the best man at his brother’s wedding, but nothing has been publicly confirmed yet.
