The American songstress has been smashing music records for years now and everyone knew her 11th studio album was going to be a hit from the moment she announced it onstage at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

February 4: Taylor Swift announces The Tortured Poet's Department
Swift announced she'd be releasing a brand new album as she accepted her 13th Grammy Award onstage at the ceremony on February 4, 2024.
As she collected her award for Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights, the superstar revealed she'd been keeping a huge secret from fans and was finally ready to come clean.
"I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years," she told the crowd.
"Which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19th. It is called The Tortured Poet's Department. I am going to post the cover back stage right now. Thank you, I love you. Thank you."

Naturally, Swift's surprise announcement on one of the music industry's biggest stages attracted huge global interest.
The singer racked up more than 540,000 new followers on Instagram that week alone, half a million people flocking to her over four words: The Tortured Poet's Department.
More raced to follow her on social media as she revealed more details about the upcoming album in the days and weeks that followed.
At the time of writing, she has over 283 million Instagram followers and 25 million TikTok followers eagerly awaiting her new music.
April 19: The Tortured Poet's Department release date
As mentioned in her acceptance speech, the album was slated for release on April 19, just over two months after the Grammy's.
It meant Swift had plenty of time to drum up buzz about her latest release - not that she really needed to worry.
When she posted the album cover and a hand-written letter signed "The Chairman of The Tortured Poets Department" to Instagram, fans lost it.
The post amassed a whopping 3.6 million likes in the first 13 minutes alone, that number skyrocketing in the hours that followed. It's safe to say that Swifties were excited.
11: Taylor Swift's total number of original studio albums
The Tortured Poets Department would be her 11th original studio album, though she's recorded and released a total of 19 albums if you include re-records and live albums.
Her 11 original studio albums are; Taylor Swift (2006), Fearless (2008), Speak Now (2010), Red (2012), 1989 (2014), Reputation (2017), Lover (2019), Folklore (2020), Evermore (2020), Midnights (2022) and The Tortured Poets Department (2024).
Swift has also released four re-recorded albums so far; Fearless (Taylor's Version) (2021), Red (Taylor's Version) (2021), Speak Now (Taylor's Version) (2023), and 1989 (Taylor's Version) (2023).
As for live albums, she also has four; Speak Now World Tour – Live (2011) , Live from Clear Channel Stripped 2008 (2020), Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, from the Disney+ Special (2020), and Lover (Live from Paris) (2023).
16: Number of main tracks on The Tortured Poet's Department
One day after announcing the album, Swift revealed the tracklist and let fans know they would be getting 16 new songs on her latest release.
And that was just the main tracklist (more on that later).
With song titles like So Long, London and The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, fans quickly got to speculating about which of Swift's former flames might have inspired her newest tracks.
They quickly settled on her longterm ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, though neither Swift nor Alwyn have commented on the theories that any songs on The Tortured Poets Department are about him or their relationship.
Two: Number of feature artists on the album
Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that two of the songs listed on The Tortured Poets Department's tracklist had feature artists attached, and one of them was a huge surprise.
Seeing Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine featured on track eight, Florida!!!, excited fans, but seeing Post Malone's next to track one, Fortnight, baffled many.
Though Swift has collaborated with many big-name stars in the past (Ed Sheeran, HAIM, Phoebe Bridgers, Lana Del Ray, the list goes on), Postie seemed like an unusual choice to feature on her latest album.
But Swift was clearly excited about working with the rapper, as she went on to announce Fortnight as the first single off The Tortured Poets Department hours before it released.
Four: Number of bonus tracks on the album
One bonus song - The Manuscript - was listed on the tracklist when Swift first revealed it in February but fans suspected she may have still had a few surprises up her sleeve.
They were right; Swift went on to announce three more bonus tracks at three of her Eras Tour concert dates in the leadup to the album's release.
At a show in Melbourne on February 16, she announced The Bolter, following it up with The Albatross, which she announced at a show in Sydney on February 23.
The last bonus track, The Black Dog, was unveiled at a Singapore show on March 3.
Each of the tracks would be available on exclusive editions of the album which also feature alternate cover art.
Number one: The Tortured Poet's Department is the most pre-saved album in Spotify history
The Tortured Poets Department broke a Spotify record well before fans heard it for the first time, becoming the number one most pre-saved album in the streaming platform's history.
While Spotify opted not to reveal exactly how many people pre-saved the album, Swift has over 98 million monthly listeners on the platform, so we'd expect the figure to be in the tens or even hundreds of millions.
It's the kind of achievement most artists could only manage after months of careful marketing and single releases, but Swift achieved it just 75 days after announcing the surprise album.
105,500: Number of TikToks tagged #TTPD before the album's release
Fans only got more excited as the release day approached, taking to social media to share their theories about what The Tortured Poets Department might bring.
There were already more than 105,000 TikTok videos posted to the app with the hashtag #TTPD hours before the album even dropped.
