The comment that hurt Kyle Sandilands the most after $100m contract torn up
Kyle Sandilands has detailed the comment that stung him the most after losing his $100 million radio contract – and it had nothing to do with Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.
Instead, the 55-year-old revealed the real blow was widespread speculation his wife, Tegan Kynaston, 40, would walk out on him once ARN tore up his deal with a $12.09 million payout.

“The most upsetting thing to me reading people’s comments was, ’Let’s see how long the wife lasts without all that money,” he said on Kyle Sandilands Live.
“I don’t mind being insulted, but to insult my wife to say she’s with me for cash is ludicrous and a demented way of thinking.”
The couple, who share son Otto, four, live in a $14 million mansion in Vaucluse and have been married since 2023.
Sandilands said the remarks regarding his wife were “terrible” and said those who comment claim to not care about him, but he thinks the opposite.

“If I don’t care about something that is in the press, I don’t read it; I certainly don’t comment about something that I don’t care about,” he added.
The Kyle and Jackie O Show ended on KIIS FM in March, weeks after an on-air spat left Henderson saying she could no longer work with Sandilands and didn’t feel safe in the workplace. It left ARN ripping up the pair’s $200 million 10-year contract just one year in.
The argument at the end of February over Henderson’s love of astrology seemed minor in comparison with other blows the pair had experienced on air in the past.
A civil trial between Henderson and her former employer was set to begin on October 12 but has been delayed until April 2027.

Henderson is suing the radio giant for unlawful termination of her $100 million contract after refusing to work with her volatile co-host.
Sandilands similarly sued ARN over the abrupt end of his contract but settled for $12.09 million before the case went to trial.
It comes days after Sandilands spoke out about his former co-host Henderson’s claim she was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of their time on-air together.
“To hear that about yourself, it’s so hard to comprehend when that’s not your experience at all and not your feelings at all,” he said on Samantha Armytage’s Act Two interview series..
Sandilands said he believed “that’s her truth”, because he understood people could have different interpretations and experiences in the same scenario.
“So what my experience was, or my feelings were may have been very different in the exact same room in the same situation that Jackie was going through,” he continued.
Henderson and Sandilands were on air for 27 years before their relationship spectacularly crumbled on air in February 2026. Nine
“She’s not someone who makes up stories and I don’t believe she, and this could be another stupid thing for me, but I don’t believe she would make up a story about me like that that could hugely affect my career and earning potential if it wasn’t true to her.”
But while he believed her account, it was difficult for him to understand as it was so different to the experience of others.
“All of the staff came with me, so what sort of mental case – all the staff followed the guy who was such a horrible bully? It just wasn’t true in all of our worlds. We couldn’t comprehend where this has come from,” he said.
“That’s the confusing part because I know she’s not a liar and I know she wouldn’t make this up because it’s a huge accusation to make.”
