Jake Reiner makes first public appearance since parents Rob and Michele were killed
Jake Reiner has made his first public appearance since his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, were killed in December 2025.
The 35-year-old actor stepped out supporting Larry David, a close friend of his parents, at the premiere of his new series.

“Attended the premiere of Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness this week … look out for me in the first episode,” Jake said on Instagram, teasing a role in the sketch comedy show.
The event marked both Jake’s first appearance and first red carpet since the deaths of his parents, and led to an outpouring of support.
“We’re all supporting you, Jake, from the sidelines – hope you can feel the love even if strangers,” one fan wrote.
“We see you, Jake, and we are holding you up. None of us has forgotten and your parents are so proud of you. Keep going!” said another.
Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025 by their daughter, Romy.
Their youngest son, Nick, was later arrested and charged with murder in connection to their deaths.
He has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder. No bail was granted, and he remains custody since at Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. This month, Nick requested access to a $2.1 million trust fund established by his parents to pay for his defence.

In a Substack post in April, Jake spoke about the trauma of discovering his filmmaker parents had died, and how his brother was accused of killing them.
“My world, as I knew it, had collapsed,” he wrote, adding that what the family faced was a “living nightmare.”
“We lost more than half of our family that night in the most violent way imaginable,” he wrote.
“Sure, any loss of a parent is devastating, but nothing compares to losing both of them at the same time and, on top of that, having your brother be at the centre of it. It’s almost too impossible to process.”

He said he understood the public interest in the case, but some details would remain private.
“I understand that people have questions about what happened. Some of those answers will come in time. But some parts of this belong only to our family, and keeping them private is the only way to protect what little remains of something that was taken from us,” he said.
Rob was the filmmaker behind classics like When Harry Met Sally, while Michele was a powerhouse in her own right – a renowned photographer, producer and co-president of Castle Rock Entertainment.
