'Unsettled and strange': Photographer recalls haunting final moments with Rob and Michele Reiner weeks before their deaths

A photographer has recalled his haunting final moments with the late Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner weeks before their tragic deaths.

Photographer Sinna Nasseri visited the couple's home just a few months ago to capture some photos of Rob, a famous director and actor, for Interview Magazine.

Now, since the tragedy that took place in that same home just last Sunday, Nasseri admits he feels "unsettled and strange".

Last Sunday, Rob and Michele were found dead in their Los Angeles home after reportedly suffering multiple stab wounds. Their son Nick Reiner has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

It was reportedly their 27-year-old daughter, Romy Reiner, who first discovered her father's body.

"Feeling unsettled and strange that I was just in their home a few months ago to take these photographs for @interviewmag," Nasseri wrote in a tribute post to Rob and Michele Reiner, sharing some of the photos from the recent shoot.

"They showed me uncommon kindness to me and @negativetopositive and the whole crew," he continued.

"They had pictures of family everywhere and Rob was very into the shot in the stairwell where I asked him to raise his arms with an expression of pride.

"He was humble and more interested in showing off his rose garden (first planted by the previous homeowner Henry Fonda) than his Emmys.

"Michele, a photographer herself, watched me work for the first few shots, clearly protective of her husband, before deciding he was in good hands and giving us space."

The photos Nasseri shared included a photo of Reiner smelling one of his roses in his backyard rose garden, smiling with pride among a stairwell peppered with family photos and standing by his fridge, which was also covered in happy family snaps.

Other snaps showed off the family home, which appeared to be filled with warmth, along with Rob's Emmys, movie posters and myriad books.

No one would have anticipated the horrors that would happen in that very home months later.

Rob was a family man, a Hollywood icon and a staunch advocate for equal rights.

He played a part in bringing some of the most iconic Hollywood films to life, including When Harry Met Sally, The Story Of Us, This Is Spinal Tap, Misery and A Few Good Men.

Rob and Michelle shared three children, Jake, 34, Nick, 32 and Romy, 27. Rob also shares daughter Tracy from his first marriage.

In the wake of their parents' death, Jake and Romy shared a statement, writing: "Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day.

"The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends."

Their third son Nick made his first appearance in court on December 17. The arraignment will continue on January 7.
