Heather Locklear and her high school boyfriend Chris Heisser are engaged!

Confirming the news to People, a source close to the 58-year-old Melrose Place star that they have "been engaged since the end of April, as they were celebrating her year of sobriety."

"They are really happy together," added the insider.

According to the publication, Locklear's family, which includes her 22-year-old daughter Ava whom she shares with her ex Richie Sambora, support the couple's impending nuptials.

"Her family, her parents, her siblings, and her daughter are all supporting her and excited for her," the star's friend told the outlet.

Just last week, Locklear was photographed by the Daily Mail wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring and a black face mask that read "I'm smiling" while out and about with Heisser.

The pair were high school sweethearts and have been on and off after reconnecting only a few years ago.

Last year, Locklear was ordered to undergo a treatment program. In February 2018, she was arrested for domestic violence and pleaded no contest to eight misdemeanour charges against law enforcement after they responded to domestic disturbance calls at her home.

The actress was reportedly ordered to spend 30 days in rehab and placed on a three-year probation following the incident.

Despite her ongoing battle with substance abuse over the years, Locklear recently celebrated one year of sobriety.

"[She's] a great place," a source told People at the time. They added, "She's strong and clear-headed."
