“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever – and it’s GOOD,” Seyfried, 40, and Sadoski, 50, said.
The couple met while starring in off-Broadway play The Way We Get By in 2015.
Their on-screen chemistry turned into a real relationship the following year while playing love interests in comedy-drama The Last Word.
They were engaged by September 2016 and quietly eloped in March 2017.
“We eloped. We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing,” Sadoski confirmed on The Late Late Show with James Corden at the time.
“It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other.”
Just days after tying the knot, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter Nina, now nine. They also have a six-year-old son, whose name has not been shared publicly.
The pair lived a mostly private life on a farm in upstate New York.

In 2022, Seyfried thanked her husband when she won a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding lead actress (in a limited or anthology series or movie) for The Dropout.
“Thank you to my family, my mum, my husband, my dad and my kids, and my dog, Finn,” she said.
