Chad Lowe’s Los Angeles community rallies around family after 13-year-old daughter Fiona’s tragic death
Chad Lowe and Kim Painter’s family is feeling the support of their Los Angeles community following the tragic death of their 13-year-old daughter Fiona Lowe.
Fiona passed away on Tuesday, September 29 at a local hospital. On October 1, the coroner’s office ruled the manner of death as suicide. Her passing came just over a year after another tragedy, the Pacific Palisades fires, rocked the family.

“Several families from Fiona’s school have reached out offering how to help,” a source told Page Six.
“Meal trains as well as GoFundMe accounts were offered because everyone seems to want to help. They are only sharing things with their very small, private circle.“
Despite the community’s readiness to give, the Lowe family kindly declined the offers.
Fiona is the middle child of Chad and Kim. They also share Mable, 17, and Nixie, 10.
The Lowe family faced hardships in recent times, notably the loss of their family home in the Pacific Palisades Fire in 2025.
Family friend and music executive Mykesha Robinson, whose daughter Faith was best friends with Fiona in elementary school, claimed Fiona was heavily affected by the loss of their home in the fires.
“Something happened when the fires happened,” Mykesha told the Daily Mail.
“They lost everything,” she added.

In February, Chad shared that the family went to see the remains of the home where all three of his daughters grew up.
“Almost a month after we evacuated our girls finally got to go back to see what’s left of their home,” he wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
“The way they’ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable. I am in awe of their spirit and resilience. Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose.

“Being their dad is my life’s greatest joy and privilege.”
Fiona’s parents, Chad, 58, and his wife, producer Kim, 52, shared the heartbreaking news of their daughter’s passing in a statement released on September 29.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the statement read.
They went on to remember Fiona as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance”.
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family said, adding, “In fact, she was the light of our lives.
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”

The statement finished with the pair urging people to reach out for help if they are going through a mental health crisis.
Chad Lowe is an actor and the brother of ’80s screen star Rob Lowe.
Chad is best known for his Emmy-award winning role as Jesse McKenna in Life Goes On as well as teen drama series Pretty Little Liars and Melrose Place.
