Cause of death revealed for Chad Lowe’s daughter Fiona, 13

The cause of death for actor Chad Lowe’s 13-year-old daughter Fiona has been confirmed as suicide.
Fiona was pronounced dead at 1.14am on Tuesday, September 29 at a local hospital. On October 1, the coroner’s office ruled the manner of death as suicide, according to a statement from a medical examiner shared with People.

Representatives for the Lowe family have not commented further than their initial statement.
Fiona’s parents, Chad Lowe, 58, and his wife, producer Kim Painter, 52, shared the heartbreaking news of their daughter’s passing in a statement released on Tuesday.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the statement read.
They went on to remember Fiona as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance”.
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family said, adding, “In fact, she was the light of our lives.
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”
The statement finished with the pair urging people to reach out for help if they are going through a mental health crisis.

Fiona was approaching her 14th birthday on November 16.
Chad’s father, Charles “Chuck” Lowe was one of the first to publicly pay tribute to his granddaughter Fiona, taking to Instagram a day after the announcement of her death.
“Rest in peace sweet Fiona,” he wrote alongside a photo of a young Fiona in the swimming pool.
Following Fiona’s death, a source told PEOPLE that her school and community were coming together to honour her memory.
“The school and community are very inclusive, artistic, a warm place. Parents are friends and most are involved with the school. This is a devastating time for the community,” the source said.
“The Lowe family is very involved and are at many school functions.
“Fiona was sweet, quiet and kind. Dance was her biggest passion, she had a very artistic soul.
“She was always kind to other students. Many of her friends are out today grieving.”

It was reported that parents at the school Fiona attended were sent an email from the principal informing them a student had died. The email did not name the student.
“It is with deep sadness that I am calling you to advise you of the death of one of our students,” the email, obtained by Page Six, said.
“Our sincere condolences go out to the student’s family, friends and teachers,” it read.
“Counsellors are available to meet with students and staff who may need emotional support during this difficult time.”
Chad Lowe is an actor and the brother of ’80s screen star Rob Lowe.
Chad is best known for his Emmy-award winning role as Jesse McKenna in Life Goes On as well as teen drama series Pretty Little Liars and Melrose Place.
