Aussie influencer reveals brutal reality of cosmetic surgery as she details recovery

Australian influencer Ruby Tuesday Matthews has shared the scary reality of recent cosmetic surgery on Instagram and revealed why she didn’t hide it.
The 33-year-old admitted recovery from an endoscopic lift in South Korea left her face so swollen, she had to go to the Apple Store because her phone won’t currently recognise her FaceID.

The mother-of-three opened up about the whole process on her Instagram stories and recapped a “wild few days”.
“Last Friday I went in for an endoscopic lift and I’m not going to lie, I was s--ting myself,” she wrote.

“The goal was never to change the way I look. I wanted to keep my face and my features just look a little more refreshed and awake, while addressing some of the volume loss through my face.”
The lift took around four hours of surgery and is described as a minimally invasive facelift where doctors make small cuts hidden in the hair.
Matthews detailed the recovery process, which included a very unplanned visit to an Apple Store.

“I literally had to go to the Apple Store in my pyjamas looking like this and reboot my whole phone because there was no way it was recognising my face. I have so many locks on my phone that I couldn’t do it without face recognition,” she posted alongside a video of herself getting ready.
The influencer detailed the recovery process in Korea, where she had the surgery, and opted to keep her sunglasses on in most videos to hide the swelling and bruising.

Matthews decided to be open about the surgery and hit back at people who questioned why she did it.
“I obviously didn’t have to share any of this. I could have disappeared for a few weeks and pretended nothing was ever done, but transparency with my community is important to me,” she shared on another post on her Instagram Stories.
“I thought I was beautiful before and I still do; I haven’t had surgery to change my face or become someone else, I simply wanted to look a little more refreshed.
“My literal reference was a photo of myself five years ago.”
