Exclusive: Ally Langdon on the part of parenting that 'truly terrifies' her – and it's not what you might expect

EXCLUSIVE: When it comes to being a parent there's one part of it that "truly terrifies" Parental Guidance host Ally Langdon.

And it's got nothing to do with her kids.

Parental Guidance airs on Mondays at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

As well as hosting Parental Guidance and A Current Affair, Ally is also a mum to two young kids, Mack, 6, and Scout, 4. 

When it comes to parenting Mack and Scout there's one part that Ally could do without and we think most parents will relate. 

"I'm scared of the school WhatsApp group," Ally confessed.

"It terrifies me. It truly, truly does.

"There are so many messages and so many things and so much stress."

Ally admitted she can take on spiders and snakes but it's the school messaging chat that makes her feel uneasy.

"It's parents. All the messages for the school and the class go on this app, which is great...

"But then someone says 'Hi I need a baby sitter, does anyone know one?

"And then 20 people reply 'Sorry, I can't help you. So when you open up the WhatsApp group, there's 200 messages you've missed."

How does Ally handle the influx of messages? By ignoring it of course.

While she's brought a few moments peace, there is a downside to not reading the chat.

"Then your kid is the only one that turns up to Harmony Day not wearing orange," Ally explained.

"Or you kid's late to the bus to the excursion because you miss all the important stuff!"

"You don't understand how scary the school WhatsApp group is," Ally pleaded with viewers.
