Exclusive: Ally Langdon on the moment that changed her and her husband's parenting: 'We'd never talked about it'
EXCLUSIVE: Ally Langdon admitted she and her husband Mike never gave too much thought as to what their parenting philosophy was until Parental Guidance came around.
Ally and husband Michael Willesee Jr. are parents to two energetic children Mack, 6, and Scout, 4.
When Ally joined Parental Guidance as a host back in 2021, it was then that she realised just how many different approaches there were to raising kids.

Parental Guidance premieres Monday June 30 on Channel 9 and 9Now.
"Going into the first season and sitting in a room where there were nature parents, where the outdoors was their classroom, or strict parents with strong views on smacking kids..." Ally began.
"I realised at that point that my husband and I had never really talked about 'How do we parent?' or 'How do we want to parent?'
"It forced us to sit down and have a conversation and make sure that we really were on the same page."

Ally said she's had many friends and viewers come to her with similar stories.
"I think like us so many people just do a little bit of this because their parents did it or vice versa don't do something because their parents did it."

Ally is going into her third season of Parental Guidance alongside parenting expert Dr. Justin Coulson.
It will see the introduction of 'Pro-Tech' parents, 'Positivity' mums and dads and 'Authoratative' families.
Having seen dozens of families take on raising kids, Ally said she thinks she's narrowed down her and her husband's parenting styles.
"I think I'm sort of free range while [Mike] is a bit more helicopter," she said.
"The way I describe it is that he keeps them alive and I have all the fun with them," she joked.
The new series of Parental Guidance, which premieres on Monday June 30 at 7:30pm, will see families from all walks of life clash over some major challenges facing our kids.
Screen time, peer pressure, body image and mental health will all be at the forefront of the conversation.

While different parents might have very different ideas, Ally said it became apparent during filming that everyone had one common goal.
"Everyone in the room just wants to be the best parent.
"It's a great privilege and we're all so lucky to have these fabulous kids, as hard as it is along the way.
"It really is the greatest job."
