Tammy reveals new secret relationship
In April 2025, in PEOPLE's sneak peek of the new season of 1000-Lbs. Sisters, Tammy revealed she is dating someone new, but she was keeping it a secret from her family.
The news came almost two years after the death of her husband Caleb Willingham in June 2023.
"I have been seeing someone for the past couple months and it's going pretty well," Tammy began. "The person I'm dating is a woman."
The 38-year-old, who previously came out as pansexual, shared that she wants to take a new approach to dating.
"After Caleb's passing, I just don't want to be with a man anymore," Tammy told cameras.
While Tammy was excited for this new chapter she wasn't sure how her family would take her relationship news.
"So I haven't told my family because my family's gonna have something to say about it," Tammy said.
"I don't know how my family's gonna react when I tell them I'm seeing a woman."
Tammy has been very open about her sexuality in the past...
Tammy Slaton opens up about her sexuality
Back in January 2024, Tammy opened up about her sexuality in a post shared to TikTok.
She responded to a fan who asked if she was trans, after she shared a video using emojis for the Pride flag and transgender flag in her caption.
"No, I'm not trans. I'm just a supporter of everybody," she explained. "I was saying I was pansexual but I kinda stopped messing with guys after my husband passed. So, I'm like a lesbian."
She continued: "I was just showing support. I'm not a hater. Love is love. Everybody deserves love whether they're gay, straight, trans, pan, bi, nonbinary, whatever. I'm just a lover."
It was important for Tammy to make things clear after her marriage to Caleb...
Tammy Slaton gets married
In 2022, while in a food addiction rehabilitation centre, Tammy met Caleb Willingham who had also embarked on a weightloss journey of his own.
The pair were engaged in October of that year and were married in November 2022.
It was reported they split after five months of marriage, but there was never any official confirmation.
Tammy Slaton's husband passes away
Sadly, Caleb Willingham passed away on June 30, 2023.
Tammy confirmed the news by posting a sweet tribute to Caleb on social media.
"Rip sweet angel you will forever be missed and loved so much thank you Caleb for showing me real love and happiness ❤️❤️," she wrote.
Tammy revealed she was at home in Kentucky when she learned about Caleb's death via text from a friend.
She told People in December 2023 he was the "love of her life"
"What's not to love? He really fit in with our family," she said.
Tammy Slaton's tribute to late husband
In March 2024, Tammy took to social media to share a touching tribute to her husband Caleb Willingham nine months after his death.
In the video, a tearful Tammy watched back a montage of her and Caleb's journey together including clips of their wedding day.
Tammy struggled to hold back tears and mouthed the words, "You are safe now".
Tammy wore a treble clef pendant necklace that she had created out of Caleb's ashes. In the video she kissed the pendant and clutched it in her hands.
In a previous video, Tammy shared that she keeps a part of her late husband with her at all time by wearing the necklace and his wedding ring alongside her own.
Tammy helps others on their weight loss journey
Since Tammy's journey began she's lost more than 500lbs (226kgs).
It would be an understatement to call it a life-changing transformation but now Tammy is calling on others to do the same and she's helping teach them how.
In a new series of videos posted online, Tammy is sharing healthy eating, exercise and mental health tips that have assisted her in her weight loss journey in a bid to be an example to others.
Fans have praised Tammy's new venture, taking to the comment section to share their thoughts.
"Love this! Look at you, using your journey to educate and help people do the same!" one wrote.
"It's crazy watching the videos from the first season and seeing how much you have changed not only physically but mentally!" another said.
Tammy faces a setback
Tammy has reached milestones in her weight loss journey, but unfortunately she also faced a recent setback.
In a clip from 1000-Lb Sisters Season 6, Tammy learned that her hopes of skin removal surgery had hit a roadblock.
Tammy's doctor was impressed by her weight loss that he told her to get a consult for the surgery.
However, Dr Brad Turner told Tammy she was not yet a candidate because it had not been long enough since her bariatric surgery.
"I'm definitely not telling you no, I'm just telling you not tomorrow," he said.
Dr Turner said Tammy needed to continue to lose weight over the next six to 12 months and then they could reassess her journey.
Tammy has been open about how skin removal was a big goal of hers after losing more than 500 lbs (226kgs).
"Amy's comfortable with her own body, but I don't feel that way because of my excess skin," Tammy said.
Fans rush to Tammy's defence
Since her 500 lbs (226kgs) weight loss transformation, Tammy has no doubt acquired a huge community of supporters.
Many of whom rushed to Tammy's defence after the reality star shared her unique coffee order to her 795,000 Instagram fans.
"French vanilla, instant coffee and drizzle a caramel sauce, about 15g of caramel protein shake and 20g of protein, coffee about five shots of French vanilla, sugar-free flavouring," she captioned a candid coffee snap in September 2024.
This was topped with: "About five shots of brown sugar and cinnamon sugar-free flavouring."
While online critics had a lot to say about her coffee order, the majority of Tammy's fans had nothing but support.
"People need to stop with the 'watch the sugar'... She just posted her coffee drink because she enjoys it. Enjoy your life and don't listen to the unsolicited advice!" one follower commented.
"She is entitled to some coffee. Leave her alone. When you've accomplished something like that then you can speak on it," another defended.
"I love this! You don't have to give up things you love completely... Weight loss is HARD. If you think you can just cut things cold turkey you're wild. Keep it up girl! You're KILLING the game 🙌," another applauded.
