CCTV footage of terrifying home invasion released as perpetrators still on the run
Police have released CCTV footage of men breaking into a Sydney home as they search for perpetrators who allegedly severed a man’s hand earlier this month.
Images show four masked men, some armed with bladed weapons, charging into a home in Greenacre early on July 6.

Inside, they confronted a 23-year-old man, demanding cash from him, before assaulting him, severing his left hand.
The same footage shows the men running from the house, before driving away down Banksia Road in a dark SUV.
The man was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery. He remains in a stable condition.

At the time, police called the attack “brutal”.
“[It was a] violent attack which is extremely traumatic,” Superintendent Rod Hart said.
The man attacked was one of five people sleeping in the family home at the time of the attack, with the father being forced to hand over cash.
No other people in the home were injured.
Hart said the family ran a successful business, which may be a reason they were targeted.
“Somehow these people were aware that there may have been cash on the premises and that’s what’s been targeted,” Hart said.
Just moments before the attack one neighbour says he saw a man walking down the road and shining a light into homes along the street.
Police are still searching for the men involved in the attack, with the gang not being sighted since the attack.
They are believed to be in their early 20s, and were seen in the footage wearing hooded jerseys, track pants and sneakers.
