Alan Jones comes face to face with alleged victim

An athlete has looked Alan Jones in the eye as he prepared to describe how the radio king allegedly kissed and sexually touched him without consent.
The athlete has elected to appear in person in a Sydney Local Court to testify as Jones fights 22 charges of indecent assault and sexual touching without consent.

The veteran broadcaster has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges, which relate to six men and are alleged to have occurred between 2003 and 2020.
Jones came face to face with his accuser on Monday when the sportsman entered the witness box, but the former broadcaster kept gaze forward and his eyes averted.
The former 2GB breakfast stalwart is accused of kissing the man without his consent at an event in Sydney, allegedly following it up with a text saying, “you look great, I love you”.
Crown prosecutor Georgina Wright SC said in her opening statement the former ruler of Sydney’s airwaves continued to send loving texts to the athlete, calling him “my darling”.
Years later, when the men were alone in Jones’ Circular Quay apartment, Jones allegedly pushed his body against the sportsman’s, so the younger man could feel his genitals, and subjected him to an unwanted kiss.
The athlete is expected to testify that he couldn’t move but eventually pushed the longtime shock jock away and left.
He went to police after seeing an article in the Sydney Morning Herald about similar allegations against Jones, Wright foreshadowed the sportsman would say.
Jones is charged with one count each of indecent assault and sexual touching without consent against the athlete.
Jones claims the alleged incidents never occurred.
The athlete is the third alleged victim to give evidence in Jones’ hearing, with the two previous complainants dialling into the court from a remote room.
The court is in closed session as the athlete testifies and media have been permitted to dial in from a remote room.
