Exclusive: Josh slams teammates' 'gutless decision' and reveals why he thinks he was an easy target on The Summit 2023

At the beginning of the day the group consensus seemed to be that Jans would be the next trekker voted off The Summit.

And when Isaac revealed that he was still begrudged by the fact that days earlier Josh had plans to abandon him at the abseiling challenge, Josh knew it was game over for him.

"I've just been voted out and I feel blindsided. I was not expecting to be leaving quite so soon," Josh exclusively told 9Entertainment.

You can watch what he had to say in the video above.

Josh was voted out by all the trekkers except for Indy, although he thinks some of his teammates were just following the lead of Isaac and Jans.

"I was an easy target because Isaac who'd been clearly seen as an ally of mine nominated me and I basically think it was a momentum of free fall," he said.

"It was slightly gutless decision and everybody just went 'Yep, let's get rid of him and buy another day on the mountain."

It was a "disappointing end" to Josh's venture he admitted that the journey there had been nothing short of "insane".

"I surprised myself the most for my tenacity to keep pushing through to not crumble, not get low – normally you have low days and I kept those at bay," he said.

"And I surprised myself with my ability to be a little bit cunning."

If he had his time again, Josh would "make slight adjustments" to his strategy and would advise himself to "not trust anyone".

As for who Josh hopes will make it to the top of The Summit, he tipped Indy to win.

"But I really cannot put my finger on it there's too many twists and turns in this game so it's anyone's guess."

But Josh worried that Indy's days might be numbered.

"My belief is that Indy is in danger she's by herself and she's proven that she's a threat," he added.
