The Block judge Shaynna Blaze has finally been photographed in the same room as her COVID expert doppelgänger

Viewers have been doing a double take whenever infectious diseases expert Professor Sharon Lewin has appeared on TV over the past two years discussing the coronavirus pandemic.

That's because The Doherty Institute director looks remarkably like The Block judge and Celebrity Apprentice Australia winner Shaynna Blaze.

Shaynna has even admitted people have mistaken her for Sharon when asked about it on Twitter.

"All the time — but are we ever in the same room," she responded.

Now Shaynna and Sharon have proved they are definitely different people, by finally being photographed together. Both were at an Australian Open Inspirational Series Event in Melbourne and took the opportunity to have a giggle about being doppelgängers.

"And they say you never see me and @SharonLewin in the same room together," Shaynna captioned photos of herself with Sharon on Instagram.

Shaynna's Instagram followers agreed they look similar, with some confessing they'd been thinking about the similarities too.

"I'm so glad it wasn't just me who picked up the resemblance! Definitely been seeing double these past couple of years," one said in the comments.

Another commented, "The resemblance is so uncanny! You two could pass for twins."

"Twins in looks... and twins in inspiration and strength," wrote a follower.

"I always wondered were you two related — look and sound soooo alike," another posted.

While we know once and for all now that Shaynna and Sharon aren't the same person, we hope they continue to have some fun with their doppelgänger discovery.
