Room Reveal: Rick and Tayla’s Main Ensuite
Rick and Tayla had a pretty tough start to The Block, but come Week 4 confidence was high! “I’ve got tasteful, I’ve gone classy, I’ve gone warm, cozy, light, bright and white,” Tayla said. Hopefully it was to the judges tastes!

Marty Fox immediately let out a “woah” when he walked through the door, while Shaynna Blaze thought it immediately felt luxurious. Good start!

Marty noted House 5’s space had the most storage they’d seen that week, with two large drawers and a vanity behind the mirror. “It’s exactly what you need,” he praised.

The tiles were a hit, with Marty calling them his favourite of the day. “1:13 This looks so much like a natural stone. “It feels very coastal, it feels very beach, it looks like a landscape from above,” Darren Palmer said.

The shower was praised as being super spacious. Shaynna said it was big enough for a party!

But Darren couldn’t look past one big issue: “This spout and that basin, how do you wash your hands?” he asked. Everything was simply too close together.

Rick and Tayla knew the vanity was too high, but they ran out of him to fix it. “We’ll do that,” Rick said.

The trio didn’t love the artwork either, which felt like it was something you’d find in a staged home for sale. “This screams real estate agent 101,” Marty said.

Despite those minor issues, the judges believed this room will have enormous buyer appeal.

“It’s luxurious, it’s classy, it’s not going to age quickly. It’s very appropriate for the location,” Marty said. And yes, the judges appreciated the little pops of colour!
