The Block's Ronnie and Georgia explain how to stencil concrete after fans went wild over their backyard flooring
Ronnie and Georgia have revealed how they gave a drab slab of concrete in their backyard new life, and the look of expensive patterned tiles, with just a stencil and some paint.
The two-time Block contestants took fans through their process in a video tutorial after getting a huge response to the flooring in a recent Instagram story.

"Y'all went bonkers over the flooring," Georgia said in the caption posted with the video. "It's actually 40 square metres of hand-stencilled concrete, which took us around three days to complete. It was a temporary, cost-effective solution to pretty up a really ugly space."

For the DIY project you'll need a stencil, exterior paint, paint roller and masking tape. Georgia recommends using the masking tape to keep the stencil in place while you apply the paint.
After the entire concrete slab was painted using the stencil, it was time to seal the paint. Ronnie and Georgia did this on day four of their project and applied two-coats.

"It's so important, we're using these two-part polyurethane and what we're doing is we want to protect the stencil. We want it to last forever," Ronnie said.
Georgia added, "What you can see there is when you use the urethane it actually deepens the colour, so that's something to give consideration to."

While Ronnie and Georgia's followers, including fellow Block contestants Tanya and Vito, loved the finished look, it won't be in the couple's backyard for much longer. The concrete will be removed as part of their upcoming backyard makeover.
"We tackled this project a couple of years ago however it's actually about to be demoed as we're commencing our exciting renovation in a couple of months," they wrote in the caption.
