Episode 6 recap: Scott Cam makes heartfelt apology after major production mistake has one team packing their bags

Week two of The Block 2026 starts with an apology – from host Scott Cam.
The $20,000 figure he said Chantel and Wyatt spent last week was wrong, which explains their confusion at the end of last night’s episode.
They feel like they’ve been stitched up on purpose and don’t want any part of it.
Meanwhile, the other four teams meet with Scotty and Alice Stolz for the results of the House Decider, where the homes are locked in without any argy-bargy at all:
- House 1: Adam and Jolene
- House 2: Chantel and Wyatt
- House 3: Lisa and Rosco
- House 4: Courtney and Sev
- House 5: Rick and Tayla
Four of the teams take their first chance to suss out their rivals’ work thanks to Open for Inspections, while members of production are on the hunt for Chantel and Wyatt.
Then it’s time to get stuck in: it’s Family Bathroom week, and we are saying goodbye to a special Block friend.
Waterproof Wednesday is no more, instead replaced with a diabolical newbie: Waterproof Tuesday. No pressure.
To add to the fun, a few of the teams are trying to get big changes signed off.
Multiple teams want to remove their bathroom’s external door and replace it with a window or large vertical glass panel, and Courtney and Sev would like to change the shape of their skylight, even though this year’s rules clearly state you cannot do that.
Rules schmules, because with enough pestering they all get the sign-off.
Just wear ’em down until they say yes. Nine
Meanwhile, Chantel and Wyatt are still MIA.
They are adamant they want to quit, telling show psychologist Simon they want an apology from Scotty and executive producer Julian Cress.
They are business owners and think the insinuation that they’re bad at budgeting or had $10,000 “disappear” will have lasting consequences on their careers.
And after last week’s painting chippy debacle, Wyatt doesn’t believe that this was a simple mistake.
They meet with Scotty and Julian at the share house.
“We are extremely sorry for what’s happened,” Scotty says. “It 1000 per cent was not deliberate.”
Julian explains the show’s accounting software counted their builder’s invoice twice, a mistake that’s never happened before, and wasn’t caught until this morning.
Big oops. Nine
Chantel and Wyatt are upset that this wasn’t cleared up immediately.
“I’m a small-business owner, I pride myself on integrity, I pride myself on being a good human,” Wyatt says.
“And you’re making me look like a piece of s--t, Scotty.”
He’s mad! Nine
The host says he’d hate for them to leave the show because of a mistake production made – and he believes that this conversation shows that their integrity is very much intact.

“You didn’t overspend, you didn’t muck up your books, we did, and we’re telling Australia that right now,” he says.
The Blockheads do think the apology is very sincere.
Wyatt still wants to walk, but Chantel has come around – and he’s open to sticking it out for her and the kids.
They ask for the afternoon to chat it out and decide.
After that heated discussion, Scotty hightales it to Reece to give Tayla an extended monologue about the merits of a smart toilet.
And I’ll be honest, I’m sold.
Then he’s off for a fancy meal and night away with winners Courtney and Sev – geez, big day for the host!
Back at the share house, they’ve rebranded the chumps meal as family dinner.
Despite the day they’ve had, Chantel and Wyatt are in good spirits.
They’re happy to report they’ve decided to stay.
They’ve got a lot of work to do, but the others are adamant they aren’t actually that behind because no one got any work done today.
Lovely.
On the bright side, well, for us – it looks like that makes for an especially chaotic Tuesday episode.
Foreman Dan’s angry, one team has no tradies and uhhhh, there’s water dripping out of House 1’s lights. See you tomorrow!
