Inside Kim Kardashian's incredibly neutral home

When it comes to details about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's home life we've seen snippets of it through the family's reality show.

But there are some things, like the inside of their palatial home, which we know little about — until now.

The Kardashian-Wests gave a tour of their incredible family home to Architectural Digest for the March issue and explained how they turned it into their dream house.

The couple purchased the property in 2013 and took a very simple, minimalist approach to design.

"The one thing Kanye and I had in common was our preference for a neutral palette," Kim explained to the magazine.

Neutral is definitely the look they achieved because almost every inch of space in their home, including furniture and appliances, is a varying shade of beige, cream or white.

For Kim the simple tonal palette acts a reprieve from her hectic life outside the home.

"I love the simplicity of the design. Everything in the outside world is so chaotic. I like to come into a place and immediately feel the calmness," she added.

Calm, sure, but with four young kids the rest of us would be stressed out of our minds that they would touch a white wall or cream couch with grubby hands.

But it turns out the couple isn't too fussed about their family running wild through the house, and Kanye said the kids do ride their scooters through the hallways and jump on tables.

Their home is sleek, with a very minimalist approach to furniture, and despite having such a neutral colour palate it doesn't look cold or clinical although the design has been called "pure".

However their home isn't completely colour-free.

There's one room that can be described as a colour explosion, and it's no real surprise that it happens to be in six-year-old North's room — which is completely pink.

The whole space is pink, from the paint on the walls to the floor to the bed, bedding and all of the bits and pieces around the bedroom.

While it may be the outlier space in their home, it's not the only interesting piece of information the couple spilled about their residence.

During a Q&A session with the publication, Kanye asked Kim, "When was the last time you used our pool?"

Kim then very hesitantly confessed, "I've never used our pool actually. Can you believe that? But I love our pool!"

Kim went on to explain that the kids also love the pool because it's heated all the time, like a jacuzzi.
