TikTok clip reveals 4 changes to make that'll have your home looking more expensive

After obsessing over another season of The Block it's safe to say we're all thinking a little bit more about the interiors of our homes and tweaks we could make.

But not everyone has the luxury — or budget — to do what the Blockheads do and completely renovate an entire house from the ground up. So, there are a few ways to get the desired look without totally gutting your whole home.

A TikTok account has shared an interesting video about four things you can do to make your home feel more expensive. The best part is none of them require huge renos either.

"Tips to make your house feel more expensive," Redink Homes captioned the clip on their channel.

The first tip is to raise your blinds up to the ceiling height. Doing this will make your ceilings feel taller and add more drama; it looks beautiful when you do it with sheers too, along the length of one wall.

"Using LED Lighting" is the second tip. In the video it is used in the kitchen of one home underneath the cabinetry, which is not only practical but looks good too.

The third tip is to go lower with your sofas. While it might not be for everyone, a couch that sits lower to the ground will make the room around it feel a lot larger.

Lastly, they advise using one statement piece in each room. For example in the bedroom, instead of lamps, go for two dramatic pendants on either side of the bed. It not only changes the look of the space but adds some real wow factor.

Another example is featuring art in a room, or large indoor plants to make a statement.

"Thank you for your tips," commented one TikToker.

Another wrote, "Basic yet USEFUL tips."

But some people were also firmly against the idea of a low sofa.

"I'd argue the lower sofa does the opposite," commented one user.

While they are just a couple of tips, throughout the 2021 season of The Block we learnt a lot about nailing functionality and style from judges Darren Palmer, Shaynna Blaze and Neale Whitaker.
