'Cleanaholic' reveals why vinegar is the ultimate multipurpose cleaner at home

There's nothing better than a multipurpose cleaning product that can tackle grubby mess and stains throughout the house. It's even better when it's a bargain buy.

Many of us use vinegar in our cleaning routine, but cleaning fan Laura — known as Laura Cleanaholic on TikTok — has revealed just how versatile it really is.

In a video on the platform she shared just a few examples of how you can use it, and a few may surprise you.

"Easy cleaning tips with white vinegar," Laura captioned the video.

"It's great for removing deodorant stains from clothing," she explained as she sprayed the solution onto the underarms of a shirt.

Next she said, "Use a cup full in your washing machine to freshen up bright colours."

"Use it to descale your steam iron," she continued. "Let the vinegar steam through for 5 to 10 mins," Laura said as she poured the vinegar into the water well in her iron.

An unlikely use for vinegar is giving your mattress a refresh.

"To freshen up and remove stains from mattresses, spray a solution of white vinegar and water," she said.

Another way vinegar can work for you is by removing lime scale in your bathroom, even the toilet.

"Remove lime scale from the rim of your toilet by soaking toilet paper in vinegar and leaving overnight," Laura explained.

These are just some of the genius ways you can use vinegar around the house. Clearly people are loving it as the video has been viewed over 107,000 times.

"This is one of my favourite products! It's so versatile," commented one user.

Laura replied, "It smells strong to begin with but then neutralises odours."

The spray Laura uses is only available in the UK, however you can make your own vinegar spray by diluting a mix of vinegar and water in a spray bottle.

The best thing about vinegar is it's one of the most inexpensive things you can buy and it does a lot.
