Highlights:

Carinya Station is 10 minutes out from the small outback mining town of Lightning Ridge, in north-western NSW.

Joe Barry and his wife Jacinda decided to open up their family sheep farm to guests as a low-impact, eco-conscious destination that fosters connection to the land, spreads information on agriculture and in some cases helps to form life-long friendships! One of their long-time guests even set up a veggie garden for them!

Joe and Jacinda will gladly give visitors a tour of the 2,670 hectare property. Meet the farm crew, learn about the local Yuwaalaraay culture and the history and farming side of the station. Children will love feeding the chooks and cuddling the baby animals at the kid-kindy.

Experience genuine country hospitality by staying a little longer. There is a limited number of powered campsites available and plenty of space for secluded off-grid options.

For something a bit more flash, Carinya has luxury glamping tents where every detail has been thought of to make sure it's a farm stay that you will never forget!

Catriona loved the ‘Balima Belle’ with luxurious linens, bespoke furniture and all the comforts, down to a jar of homemade cookies!

Carinya is an Aboriginal word meaning happy, peaceful home, and the family invites visitors to ‘disconnect to reconnect’. Catriona reckons the best way to end the day is to kick back, relax and take in the big sky country around a roaring campfire.
