"It's fans — three newbie couples — here to make their mark, versus favourites, legends returning to gun them down," the voice-over says.

The favourite couples are Mitch and Mark, who competed on The Oslo in 2019 and Ronnie and Georgia, who were on the 2017 season.

But they're up against some big competition: Tanya and Vito, Kirsty and Jesse, and Josh and Luke.

"The good," Tanya says with a drill in her hand.

"The bad," Georgia adds, as she kicks in a door.

"And the fabulous," Mitch finishes, holding a drill like a gun.

With two all-star teams coming back, the competition is going to be tough and Scotty already knows it.

"This cul-de-sac ain't big enough for the lot of ya," he tells the five teams gathered around him.

They're also changing up the show in a very big way.

"For the first time in Block history, we're throwing away the plans," Scott announces as he literally throws a sheet of plans over his shoulder.

The five teams will renovate and transform five magnificent family homes throughout the season — in a "cul-de-sac showdown that will grip Australia," the voice-over teases.

It's not clear when the new season is coming, but it will be later this year on Nine.
