In pictures: Ricky and Haydn's completed house
Ricky and Haydn have had one hell of a ride on The Block Island.
Their journey got off to a chaotic start, with Haydn welcoming his first child early and being choppered off-site and Ricky taking on the job solo.

Then they failed to finish a bathroom or win a Room Reveal for weeks.
But despite the setbacks, the boys proved it isn't how you start it's how you finish.
The boys quickly bagged multiple challenge wins – including the $100,000 Bar Crusher boat – and even won the Domain Listings Challenge after receiving the most votes from 100 potential buyers.
House 3 was quickly dubbed the "Fun Factory" by judges, and with a 70 foot palm tree and a fully-functioning games room it's not hard to see why.

Considering Ricky had to complete the first room solo, it didn't turn out half bad.
While the CommBank smart board recommends around a $20k budget for the guest bathroom, the boys spent $31,848 on their space.
Of course, $12,000 of it was just on their bath!
The judges walked in here with big smiles, praising the team's floor plan.
"The vanity is in the right spot, the bath feels good, this is a massive shower... everything seems to be working," Marty beamed.

"I think the layout is incredible. I think the choice of tiles is perfect," Shaynna agreed.
Darren beamed: "I think it's a bloody good start. This is a cracking bathroom.
"Week 1, hardest bathroom ever in the hardest location ever in 20 years..."

However, the judges' biggest concern came from the clashing amount of visual cues and colours in the room's style.
"I think is all beautiful, but there's too many lines in the tiles, the panelling, the bath and the vanity," Shaynna began.
With a shade of green and two shades of blue, Shanna thought the colour palette was "mismatched".

Shaynna even went as far as to describe the room as "childish".
The duck egg blue door became a talking point for the judges after Darren pointed out it was "too much".
"It's a bit kindergarten," Scotty reported the feedback back at Block HQ.

While it was a good effort, the boys came in third place in Week 1 with 24 points.

For their second week, Ricky and Haydn decided to do their Guest Bedroom as one suitable for kids, designing a cool, vibrant space complete with bunk beds and a flat-screen TV.
The room's hero feature was a huge map of the world emblazoned across fitted wardrobes, featuring painted animals from the different countries throughout.
However, during the week Foreman Dan revealed he didn't believe some aspects of the room reflected the boys' best work, slamming paintwork and scratches on the walls as "below standard".

The judges had a lot to say about the space.
Shaynna was immediately drawn to the wardrobe and the "awesome" Grafico globe print.
"That's hot. I'm loving that," she said.
Marty agreed, and said he'd love for his children to have something similar in their rooms.

Marty was also happy to see bunk beds, which he hoped would be an addition in a team's room this week.
But then the critique began.
The judges had a lot to say about the layout of the room and the position of the bunks.
"When you walk in the room, you feel off-centre about where you should go because you're hitting a bunk when you're walking in," Shaynna gave her view.

But as it turns out, that was the least of their problems.
Marty was quick to notice various craftmanship issues within the room, including "rough" painting and plastering.
He said it was not "competition worthy," and noted that the room didn't have heating or cooling.
While he said it was just a "good room" rather than a "great room", Shaynna felt differently.
"I don't even think it's a good room," she replied.
Ouch.
She continued: "I think the wardrobe is the hero. The rest of it needs to be fixed."
