Surprising detergent hack gets rid of grease and grime on your oven racks without endless scrubbing
If you've tried cleaning your dirty oven racks in a sink full of hot soapy water, you'll know just how hard and long you have to scrub until the grime comes off.
Turns out there is a way to speed up that process and make the task a lot easier thanks to a surprising cleaning hack.
According to cleaning product brand Fabulosa, oven racks will come up sparkling faster if you freeze the detergent in ice cube or silicone muffin pan trays first.

The brand shared a demonstration of the hack in a TikTok video.

First, the washing up liquid is poured into the muffin pan holes until they are partially filled.
Once frozen the detergent disc is rubbed back and forth along the racks to remove the grime.
You can see how well the hack works by the dirty residue that melts onto the bench during the process.

After doing that you can wash as usual, or just give your oven racks a rinse.
"Frozen washing up liquid hack that leaves oven racks sparkling and lemony fresh. Perfect to leave in pans, oven dishes and sinks for extra soaking too! Who's trying this?" Fabulosa captioned the TikTok video.
The frozen detergent hack was a hit with TikTokers who are keen to try it for themselves.
"I'm doing this tomorrow! Wow," a woman wrote.
"Definitely got to try this," another commented.
"Genius," posted a follower.

This hack is believed to have been created by another TikTok user, @tanyahomeinspo. She used Dawn dish soap to try the hack rather than Fabulosa, which proves any washing up detergent is likely to work well when frozen.
For oven rack tricks with even less scrubbing, cleaning hack fans on social media recommend soaking oven racks in the bathtub with hot water, and then adding either laundry detergent or dishwasher tablets.
