The Floor winner Alex is expecting his first child – via a surrogate who was his TV rival
The Floor Australia had already given Alex a massive cash prize of $200,000, but now the 2026 champion is expecting something priceless: his first child.
The season 2 winner has confirmed he and his partner, Brett, are soon-to-be parents, thanks to surrogate Antonia, whom he met when they were rivals on the game show.

“As two dads, we know we couldn’t do this alone. For us, we wouldn’t be here without Antonia, our incredible surrogate, and her equally incredible partner, James,” Alex and Brett shared on Instagram.
“Meeting them and embarking on this journey with them feels like pure serendipity – especially since it all happened on the set of a TV game show! A simple thank you doesn’t quite cover it, but we are endlessly grateful to them both for helping us start this next chapter.”
The pair said that for queer couples, “building a family is rarely a straight line”.
“It’s a long, intentional and often complex road – and while the journey takes a lot, it also speaks volumes about how deeply wanted and fiercely loved every little person already is,” they said.
“Any child with queer parents is lucky to be born from that kind of deliberate, hard-fought love to bring them into the world.”
After bonding on the set of The Floor, Alex and Antonia, who are both Aussie expats living in the UK, made their journey home together.
“We talked about what I’d do with the money, and I mentioned my husband and I were trying to start a family,” Alex told nine.com.au after his win.
“I guess that put the idea in her head.”
After speaking to her partner James, who she has five children with, Antonia reached out to Alex and got the ball rolling.

Now carrying their child, Antonia responded to the pregnancy announcement by thanking Alex and Brett for “trusting me with your precious cargo, because this experience is making me feel some profound existential transformative shit.”
Alex and Brett confirmed their “already-very-loved girl” is due in February 2027.
