Episode 27 recap: Wyatt clashes with former Blockhead before he makes stunning confession

It’s a brand-new day but #dishesgate is still dominating conversation.
Last night, Chantel and Wyatt upped and left for the gym after a group meal, leaving everyone else to clean up – and by the looks of the sink, they’ve done it again with brekkie.
Still mad. Nine
Jolene is still ranting about how it’s rude, while Chantel explains why her oat-eating habits require her bowls to have extra sink time.
“I’m sorry to whoever’s been washing up my oatmeal bowls,” she says.
Anyway, this is a reno show! Let’s see some high-vis!
In House 2, Wyatt’s mood quickly plummets as he finds himself in a standoff with Kinsman over the lack of space to store their cabinetry.
Even though Chantel and Wyatt were warned to make space, there is plasterboard in the way.
While he tells cameras, there is nothing he can do right now, Chantel moves a few boxes and … well, there’s suddenly space.
There was nothing he could do. Nine
Jolene takes a shopping trip to Melbourne and barely makes it back alive, but thankfully arrives just in time for a site-wide panic.
No one, besides House 2, realised they had used the correct plasterboard to go behind their stone splashbacks.
Everyone needs to go back and switch it out.
How do you feel about that, Jolene?
Oh! Nine
Later, it’s barbecue and platter night at the share house – woo, minimal dishes! – and the Blockheads are surprised by some special guests: 2025 duos Robby and Mat and Sonny and Alicia.
They give everyone a hint about tomorrow’s challenge, and then the bonding continues.
For most of the group.
As the former Blockheads are taken through photos of the houses so far, Chantel and Wyatt grow impatient.
They want to wrap this up so they can go to the gym, so Mat rips into them. Like, really rips into them.
LOL. Nine
Wyatt hates it.
“His personality’s just a bit, [it] clashes with mine, I guess. A bit pushy, a bit rude, a bit disrespectful of other people’s opinions,” he says.
So, of course, Wyatt goes to the gym.
The next morning, he’s still stewing about Mat.
“He lost my respect,” he reckons.
Meanwhile, Tayla:
Mood. Nine
The challenge begins how all of them should, in my opinion: with an ice-skating performance by Mat in a very elaborate purple outfit.
After THAT, the teams begin a penalty shootout on the ice. In zorbs.
I have many questions and none of them are answered, but alas, Adam and Jolene come out victorious!
They win $10,000 and a fun-looking trophy.
Footy champ! Ice champ! Zorb champ! Nine
Back on site, progress is good for most.
But in House 5, their plans for a backlit splashback have hit a major snag: site manager Aidan doesn’t know anything about it.
Tayla hasn’t sent through the necessary specs, leaving Rick worried and Tayla … not so much.
Welp. Nine
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Chantel and Wyatt are leaving early – and not for the first time.
It stuns their rivals, but Chantel uses the car ride to catch up with her kids.
She says she wants to win enough money to buy a house for them and to have financial freedom.
Wyatt, meanwhile, is all about the freedom and “being able to wake up and do what I want to do every single day”.
Oh, and maybe an acting career.
“A profile lift would absolutely help the acting career if I decide to go down that path, I really want to try and pursue that,” he says.
He has begun acting like he doesn’t absolutely despise painting, so I could see it!
Tomorrow night, the stakes of Kitchen Week become EVEN bigger and Scotty and Shelley have some home truths during walkarounds.
