This week the Blockheads had the huge task of delivering not just one, but TWO kids' bedrooms!

House 1's Emma and Ben scored a respectable 24/30 in Week 1 but after taking on the judges feedback, they were looking to do even better.

Despite having "zero" experience with kids' rooms, the couple took inspiration from their own time as teenagers as well as the Daylesford area to create two very different rooms.

"I'm hoping the judges walk into our rooms and go wow," Emma said.

So, did they? Let's find out.

Scotty had suggested a budget of just $15,000 for the two bedrooms this week, but craftsmanship like this doesn't come cheap!

Emma and Ben ended the week a tad over budget, spending $17,554 in total.

First up on the judges' agenda was this blue room, designed with a teenage boy in mind.

The boldness of the room was hard to deny as soon as they entered.

"I'm instantly struck by the depth of colour," Shaynna said.

"They've really gone heavy in detail and energy in here!"

"And texture, lots of different materials," Marty agreed.

In fact, the judges said it had a level of detail you didn't normally see in a kids' room.

But with $185,000 worth of prizes at stake this week, Emma and Ben went all out!

Plus, Darren felt all the details were well considered, such as the timber of the shelves and bed.

Marty felt the proportions of the room were great, but there was one feature that he did not like...

These lights!

"These pendants are really throwing the room," he said.

"It's got this like fluorescent tone and it's just not warm and cozy. They will throw the buyers, along with, I think, this wallpaper's just a little too much."

But Shaynna defended their bold colour scheme.

"I feel that this is the richness and the texture that we need to envelop us in Daylesford," she said.

Emma and Ben's secret weapon was their circular niche, with shelving and bench seat.

Shaynna thought it was a "sophisticated" addition to the room and was very impressed by the execution.

Here's the seat in all its glory!

"I already feel there must be an incredible synergy between Ben and Emma and their build team, because you can't get this execution on Week 2 if you aren't working together on a really good timeline," Shaynna continued.

"I think that's the highlight for me with Emma and Ben, that their execution is fantastic," Marty agreed.

But then he said something that really shocked his colleagues...

Marty labelled the room "neither here nor there, which also makes it not that memorable for a buyer when they walk around the home".

Safe to say, Shaynna was very confused by that statement!

Not memorable?! She certainly wasn't onboard with that.

Back at HQ, Emma said Marty was "hard to win over".
