Maddy and Charlotte's Backyard and Pool

Maddy and Charlotte described this week as a bit of a "Debbie Downer", meaning it wasn't so great.
Having the third biggest backyard this year, the girls had a modest $75,000 landscape budget.
But things soon turned around!

They nabbed young gun landscaper Ryan who delivered Eliza and Liberty's 2023 backyard.
With his help, and the help from the hipages team, they delivered three distinct and stunning spaces in backyard dubbed the "entertainer's dream".
Scroll through to see what judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren PalmerMarty Fox and guest judge and landscaper Dave Franklin thought of House 1's backyard and pool.
"I just love how versatile our space is," Maddy said ahead of reveals.
"I love that we have the kids zone, I love that we have the external access, I love that we have a pool area, pizza oven, fire pit – it's not just one big space."
We love that she loves it.
But did the judges agree?

Walking in, the judges first noticed the impressive size of House 1's backyard.
"Oh my god," Shaynna let out a little squeal.
"Geez, look how big this is," marveled Marty. "It's massive. Huge. Welcome to Backyard Week!"
Taking her eye to the back fence ,Shaynna said, "The fact they already have all these existing paperbark trees, it just already provides a landscape for them."
If you can see past this stunning barbeque area!
Dave Franklin pointed out the rich variety of fauna before them today.
"We've got tea tree, lilly pilly, blechnums – we've got a very coastal palette of trees here," he praised.
"And we have a lot of lawn as well and we don't get to see this a lot on The Block," Dave added.
Then Darren jumped in: "This is a really heavy hitting, big swing of a backyard."
A deck straight out the back door led to an impressive outdoor kitchen, dining and lounge area.
Styled to perfection mixing linen and woven textures!
Light, costal vibes was House 1's brief and we think the girls have nailed it with this plush timber outdoor setting.
It's Week 11 on The Block and Dave Franklin was seeing both speed and budget in the barbeque and surrounds.
"You had a bit of an issue with the bench top, didn't you?" Scotty asked back at HQ.
"Let's face it, doing a barbecue, it's not quick. This is quick, but it looks good," Dave acknowledged.
While Shaynna said: "I love how they've kept it really simple in their application here. They can just change it when it gets a bit rough because it's exterior panelling."
"Simplicity, it looks incredible."
"They've tied it in beautifully with the exterior of the building and it looks good," Darren agreed.
Marty Fox knows how to throw a party and for him, what they've delivered is clearly an entertainer's dream.
"I think this element of being undercover makes it so useful," Marty explained.
"This is all afternoon sun. So in terms of the position on The Block, being on this side of the resort, means in those afternoons when you're having those barbeques with family, you've got that beautiful light coming through," said Marty.
"This is a real entertainer's dream being on this side of The Block," he said.
Then Darren got excited.
