An unexpected arrival throws best mates Ricky and Haydn into chaos in sneak peek for The Block 2024

Loveable larrikins Ricky and Haydn will be hard to miss when they step onto The Block 2024.

The Melbourne best mates are one of five new pairs taking on TV's biggest renovation show and a new promo ahead of the Season 20 premiere – which you can watch above – introduces the fun-loving duo.

They are certainly partial to a high-vis outfit – which is of course very handy on a building site. We're not sure the rubber fish on their feet are considered suitable PPE, however.

"Am I ready for business or what?" asks Ricky in the trailer, as he arrives dressed in head-to-toe fluro.

It seems like Ricky and Haydn's approach to The Block is just as bold as their outfits.

"What's the plan for this island home?" Shelley Craft asks.

"Just wing it," Ricky replies.

Plus, a Block baby is imminent as the promo teases Haydn receiving an exciting phone call from his partner who reveals "I'm in early labour".

"Righto," Haydn replies, visibly shocked, although it's not revealed whether he'll make it to her in time for the birth.

Of course, host Scott Cam is excited about the new arrival.

"I'm going to be an uncle!" he proclaims.

It sounds like Ricky and Haydn are going to be delivering in more ways than one when The Block kicks off on Monday!

The Block will air on Monday August 12 at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
