'I'm not paying': Courtney and Grant clash with their builders after going thousands over budget on The Block 2024

Courtney and Grant narrowly missed out on winning Guest Bathroom Week, losing by just half a point behind Kristian and Mimi.

But while Kristian and Mimi stuck very close to their recommended $20,000 budget, Courtney and Grant were a whopping $15,000 over – and if they carried on like that, they were headed for disaster.

During Tuesday's episode, the couple came to the realisation that the majority of money was spent on trades – having twice as many on-site than any other house – alongside poor time management.

"The budget last week... the consistent delays has then turned into us paying for plasterers that are waiting to be here," Grant said in rage to Foreman Dan.

"I've got to the point of going, 'This is when you promised, this is when they started, this is the delay and this is what's coming out of you bill.'"

And in the video above, we saw the moment Grant had had enough.

Grant had initially hoped their builders would understand that money was lost due to mismanagement, and that there would be a reduction in their bill.

But the discussion wasn't quite as calm as anticipated.

"I'm not paying for it," Grant exclaimed to his builders in the clip, who replied: "Today you won't pay for four? We're happy to volunteer two guys if you don't want to pay because you don't have enough cash - that's fine."

"It's not about the cash, it's about you guys not being as productive as the teams of two," Grant bit back.
