'Not our favourite person': Teams awkwardly react as Marty Fox surprises them with a round of live feedback of their Living and Dining rooms

According to Kristy, Scott Cam doesn't just throw a Block barbecue for the hell of it.

And as it turns out, she was right because Scotty surprised the Blockheads with a special guest – judge and realtor Marty Fox.

But with his blunt feedback often hitting the contestants where it hurts, he didn't get the warmest reception.

Liberty admitted that Marty "was not our favourite person" and Kristy described his arrival as "kind of like when somebody brings their friend that nobody likes". Ouch.

But whether they liked him or not, Marty Fox was there to give the teams his opinion once again.

With Neale Whitaker returning to critique Living and Dining Room Reveals, Marty hadn't actually seen the teams' finished spaces.

The contestants toured their living and dining rooms with Marty to get some live feedback.

In House 1, Marty wasn't surprised to see that Kyle and Leslie's finish was yet again "stunning".

"Your materiality is on point but this was a living space in this area with the bedrooms that you have," he told the couple.

"This is extremely compromised because if you look at the square meterage it's essential comparable to that of a studio apartment."

It was in line with the other judges' concerns that Kyle and Leslie's living room was too small and could jeapordise the success of their auction.

House 4 were chuffed with Marty's thoughts on their room and felt he was well and truly "on the Steph and Gian train".

Marty was a huge fan of their neutral tones and consistent style and was sure the market would be too.

Stepping into Kristy and Brett's space, Marty immediately felt "calm".

And he took a liking to their unique three-sided fireplace.

"It gives the space more personality and it makes it feel more open to what is to come," he said.

While Neale Whitaker loved Leah and Ash's pink plaster wall so much he gave their room a 10, Marty wasn't as big of a fan.

"Would I personally do the pink fireplace? No. Have you tied it in and does it feel like a deliberate move? Yes," Marty was honest with the couple.

Marty admitted that if he was to score the room it would get a nine.

"I can't give it a 10, just because of that fireplace – that's all," the realtor added.

In House 5, Eliza and Liberty admitted that they thought they'd dislike Marty but actually received "constructive feedback" regarding the orientation and styling of their room.

"The boldness in choosing that fireplace deserves a great score," he commended the sisters.

"It was so annoying that he was nice because we wanted to hate him," Liberty confessed.

"We wanted him to be awful but we actually quite like him, annoyingly so.

"And we think he'll be kinder to us now because he knows us."
