Scott Cam hosts a wine challenge after Ankur and Sharon claimed to be experts – and the results leave teams hysterical

Earlier in the week, Ankur and Sharon made the bold move of googling the answers in the Grape Escape challenge which led to them winning $50,000 worth of wine.

And while host Scott Cam confirmed the tactic was not cheating, he was less than impressed that the duo chose to cover up what happened and instead claim they were simply experts in wine.

To test their theory, Scotty decided to have an impromptu wine tasting of his own during Friday night dinner, where the champion would receive a $1,000 prize.

He named the game "Australia vs France", and asked teams to take a sip of wine and decide which of the two countries it came from. Those who guessed wrong would be removed from the game, and the last man or woman standing would win $1,000.

As neither Omar and Oz drink alcohol for religious reasons, Scotty said: "You don't have to drink it, just pick a side. You can follow the winemaker Ankur around!"

"That's hilarious!" the pair later told the camera. "Oh, God!"

Scotty began the task by saying: "This is for no points, this is a teaser. But can you tell me what you're actually drinking?"

Rachel later shared her thoughts to the camera, and said: "In this whole thing, Anks just kept going out about how much he knows about wine... and everyone said pino, except sommelier over there [Ankur] who said rosé!"

After a producer asked Rachel if she thought he was trying to throw everyone off the scent, she laughed: "I hope not, because that was ridiculous. He should have just said, 'Hang on a minute, I'll Google it!'"

After Scotty revealed it was in fact pinot noir, Omar and Oz giggled hysterically to the camera, "How you meant to pick the flavours, if you can't even pick the drink!"

Ankur later told the camera: "I said I knew it was a pino, and I said it was a rosé because I had a VB at Tom's house prior to coming and so my palette was smashed."

The teams were then asked to choose between Team Australia and Team France, for a wine which turned out to be a Levantine Hill pinot noir from the Grape Escape challenge.

All of the ladies were wrong and so were out of the game, which led to one final question.

While all of the gents took the Australian side, it was Dylan who decided to boldly go alone and say French.

Luckily his move paid off, and he and Jenny managed to take home the $1,000.

"We finally won something! We won $1,000 which I'm stoked about, that's so good!" Jenny said after. "At the end of the day, Dyl's the best wine taster on The Block, so hopefully we get a few more wine challenges!"

Omar joked afterwards: "I think Ankur and Sharon maybe had a different palette tonight because of the pizza, so the taste probably was a little bit off..."

"Maybe not enough time for Google!" Oz laughed, while Omar giggled: "You can't Google a taste!"
