Landscape designer Christian Jenkins first came to the attention of The Block viewers in 2021 when he helped Mitch and Mark create stunning front and backyards.

This year Christian is designing Omar and Oz's huge landscaping project, which is on House 5's 10 acre plot.

And just like with Mitch and Mark, who went on to win Season 17, Omar and Oz have formed a good bond with Christian.

"The boys were the first contestants to ring me and from that moment we just clicked," Christian said.

"l enjoy people with high energy and a positive outlook and they have plenty of that. Their house is beautiful and their vision amazing. They're great lads to work for."

After becoming such a familiar face on The Block, we thought it was about time to get to know Christian better. So he sat down with 9Entertainment to answer some questions.

The Block teams I've worked with:

2021: Mitch and Mark and 2022: Omar and Oz.

The Block space I'm most proud of:

Like splitting hairs, I'm very proud of the tropical oasis in Mitch and Mark's backyard at Bronte Court last year with a plunge pool and a real resort style vibe garden. The front yard was designed for street appeal and a kid-friendly place to play, which ended up winning at Room Reveals.

This year was a huge effort and l'm really proud of the effort to transform a pile of mud into a beautiful landscape with tennis/basketball court, 12m shipping container swimming pool, alfresco putting green and over 800 square metres of front yard landscape, creating great street appeal once again.

Favourite season of The Block I've worked on:

Both series have provided a different experience and l have totally enjoyed both. Last year was less stressful and a little bit more enjoyable. This year being a monster achievement creates wonderful satisfaction.

Best thing about working on a Block house:

Working in a high-impact workplace creating extraordinary results to unrealistic time frames. The sponsors list is so exciting, working with the best products in Australia.

Most challenging thing about working on a Block house:

The general challenge of trying to complete a designer garden in such a short time frame requires a lot of skill and effort.

What working on a Block house is like compared to a regular house:

Working on a regular house is a normal process where we take our time to finish and execute each element of the garden. The Block requires a tradesman to build faster and quicker than usual and still execute a high level of workmanship. It's a high intensity and dynamic workplace that can require one to work very large hours over the six days, approximately 12 hours a day on average, with a day of 20 hours to finish.

The funniest moment we've had working on The Block:

Last year whilst completing the rear garden, the Domain Buyers Jury challenge was on and as Mitch was getting ready he appeared at the bedroom window naked, very funny moment.

I keep coming back to The Block because:

The thrill and rush of completing something beautiful as a landscape designer. Working with a list of amazing sponsored products allows us to create a garden in six days that would normally take six weeks, working with a large amount of highly skilled tradesmen. It's a workplace we're you must be dynamic and able to make quick decisions and roll with adversity.

The thing people would find most surprising about The Block:

The short time frame. People still ask: 'Do you get extra time? You couldn't possibly complete the works in that timeframe'.

Biggest learning curve from working on The Block site:

Try to remain cool and calm under pressure. There are so many uncontrollable factors that happen each day whilst building the gardens on The Block. Communicating with Nine in Six (The Block builders) and Foremen Keith and Dan is critical to ensure a slow process and landscape is executed in a short time-frame.
