MAFS' Lizzie Vega-Sobinoff hospitalised after discovering bugs 'living inside' her following birth
Married At First Sight's Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Vega-Sobinoff has shared a startling health update after giving birth in November 2023.
In a lengthy Instagram post, she revealed she spent the first few days of 2024 in hospital and narrowly avoided ending up in intensive care.

"Saturday till Thursday - found out I had some very nasty bugs living in me from birth," Lizzie wrote.
"So happy I have my answers. I had an infection for all the duration of my postpartum and my results had come back from a swab that resulted in a phone call on Friday afternoon stating that I needed to go to hospital for six days and be on a drip of antibiotics."

"The bugs I have could lead to ICU stay if not treated and very scary consequences if they reach my organs," Lizzie continued.
"I should have spoke up earlier that things weren't right. I just didn't know what to expect postpartum.
"Still, at least they found the bugs before something really bad could have happened to me."

For now, Lizzie has not shared anymore details of her condition but appears to be on the mend despite a rough start to the year.
Replying to friends' and followers well wishes in the comment section, Lizzie said: "I'm okay but have been pretty miserable."

Lizzie and her husband Alex Vega welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, on November 8 2023.
So far, the couple have kept their daughter's name under wraps.
”I have never been happier. My everything. A love so strong. Pure bliss," Lizzie wrote at the time of her daughter's birth.
Lizzie has always been open and honest about her health struggles in the past.
She was diagnosed with "endometriosis, ovarian cysts and bowel adhesions" in February 2021 after months of trying to figure out what was wrong.
Lizzie has since been online regularly to raise awareness about the condition.
She wrote about some of her pregnancy journey in a blog for 9Entertainment, explaining how it certainly wasn't the easiest journey.
