MAFS’ Rhi Disljenkovic breaks silence on Jeff Gobbels split: ‘I was really unhappy’
Married At First Sight star Rhi Disljenkovic has broken her silence on her shock split from Jeff Gobbels, revealing the real reason she walked away from their two-year relationship.
“I was really unhappy,” the bride, 36, admitted to Life Uncut hosts Britt Hockley and Laura Byrne in her first interview since the couple’s break-up in June.

Perhaps the biggest reason she walked away from their relationship was because by the end of it, she said they “didn’t recognise” themselves any more.
“I wanted to be a mum, I wanted my life to progress. And I found myself having the same conversations on repeat about the future,” said the Season 12 star.
As time went on, Rhi said she no longer felt Jeff wanted to build a future together.
“I was getting told the things that I wanted to hear, of course. But nothing was actually happening to move forward in our relationship and make me feel like he wanted to be there,” she claimed.
Rhi said she needed reassurance but wasn’t getting that: “Sometimes loving someone is just not enough to stay.”
While Rhi wanted to keep details private, she shared that persistent external gossip made it difficult to feel secure in the relationship.
“I guess I’m probably not ready to talk about them, if I ever will talk about it online. But there were rumours,” she claimed.

“Not that I ever found out concrete that they were true. But I was always faithful in our relationship and it was really hard to get past those rumours.
“There are current rumours about me being the one that cheated on him, and that is just the biggest lie.“
Ultimately, the decision to walk away came down to how much the relationship had changed both of them.
The bride clarified that she once did feel “lucky” to be in the relationship as she looked back on the good times and the “good” in Jeff.

Which is why she is “disappointed” in the way things ended.
She “would have loved an amicable breakup” but said it just wasn’t that.

In July 2026, the star confirmed she was “going ahead” with egg freezing in a candid update with fans.
She revealed her first appointment is this week.
Disljenkovic acknowledged that everyone’s timeline is “so, so different” but by going down the egg freezing route, she felt it could help “take the pressure” off.
“Relationships sometimes don’t work out and what you thought, doesn’t always go to plan a lot of the time,” she admitted.
