Everyone was seeing double when Awhina and Adrian met at the end of the aisle, as they're both identical twins.

Awhina, 30, is an aged care worker and mum-of-one from Western Australia. After being in a relationship for 15 years she was keen to meet a partner that's going to give her a new lease on life.

Enter Adrian, also 30, who is an E-commerce business owner that rates himself ten out of ten in the looks and personality department.

There was instant attraction as the pair first laid eyes on each other at the altar, but things became tense as Awhina looked for the perfect opportunity to tell to Adrian that she had a seven-year-old son.

Unfortunately that information was revealed during Awhina's parents' emotional speech. Panicked, Awhina called time on the speech and walked out on her own reception to explain things to Adrian.

Adrian admitted Awhina having a child wasn't "ideal" but despite the hiccup he vowed to go into their marriage with an open mind.

But how are they doing now?

Are Awhina and Adrian still together?

No, Awhina and Adrian are not together.

The pair left things in a very uncertain place after Final Vows, but the pair confirmed they had split for good ahead of the Reunion Dinner Party.

"At Final Vows, I wasn't ready to let go of what we had," Awhina admitted.

She explained that after returning home to Perth, she found the clarity she needed.

"For me it took leaving the experiment to feel like me again. Even if Adrian and I lived in the same state, it wouldn't have worked," she soon realised.

"Our feeling didn't progress past the physical level. And I hadn't really recognised, but Adrian made me feel less than," Awhina shared.

Adrian said that during their confusing Final Vows, he struggled to fulfil his plan to end things for good.

"In that moment, I couldn't walk away. I cared about her too much," he looked back.

With long distance to face, communication issues to solve and families that clashed, Awhina and Adrian both decided at Final Vows that it was time to go their separate ways.

Until literally five seconds later when they realised their chemistry was so undeniable they should get back together and give things a proper go in the outside world.

Their rollercoaster Final Vows was consistent with rest of their turbulent journey.

Their level of attraction towards each other has never wavered, but Adrian not being completely accepting of Awhina being a mother caused some issues throughout.

The couple also faced a huge hurdle when it was revealed Adrian had stormed out of the experiment after he wasn't allowed in a 30-second promo video for MAFS.

They made up, but a number of arguments followed after that including their disastrous family meet-up, Adrian's unwillingness to do long distance and the pair both going on dates with their alternative matches during the Final Task.

Married At First Sight airs Sunday at 7:00pm and Monday to Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
